I’ve been playing Dragon Quest Treasures and it’s a lot of fun and the first Dragon Quest game I’ve ever played. I’ve been trying to find a copy of DQ XI to play next.

While I agree I am not sure if these were taken on switch.

  4. this game is extremely ugly, you should check out alien isolation on switch. it has the best graphics.

but nice topic!!! Dragon quest is legend!!!

3rd picture looks the best imo with the subtle specular highlights on the water. Plays best to the switch’s weak hardware. The second one and first one look somewhat like a heavily upscaled PS2 games/ early PS3 games. Not bad though considering it’s just 4 arm a57 cores and a tiny Maxwell gpu powering the little guy. Alien isolation played very well to the switches hardware, open world games have to make a lot of visual comprises to run on the switch.

I really need to get around to playing this. Been on my wishlist since I got my switch years ago lol.

Great game. I’m stuck somewhere in the last third of the game grinding. I may try to finish it before DQ3 remake comes out.

It looks amazing! Do you recommend the game as a whole?

I might have to pick this up tomorrow, it’s only 35 bucks at my local gamestop now used.

It looks alright on the Switch. The grass textures in the game, and the poor anti-aliasing across the board (in handheld mode, at least), were pretty big turnoffs to me. I wound up getting the game on PC and modding the graphics rather heavily, and am playing it on a 4K monitor, for the most part. Having a Steam Deck with the foliage and animation correction mods helps as well, as Steam’s cloud save feature allows for easily playing on a computer or in a portable format. It looks far better than the Switch version, but I still wish I could continue with my save file on Switch whenever I wanted. Would be ideal if the game had a cross-save feature on Switch, like The Witcher 3 does.

Still, Dragon Quest XI’s art style is great, so that does it a lot of favors on the Switch, foliage textures aside. But on PC, when modded to restore and surpass graphical features from the original (non-definitive) version, looks absolutely incredible, especially in open field zones.

As good as it looks on Switch, the original (not the Definitive) version that launched on PC looks better still- one of the most visually beautiful games in my opinion. It’s not on sale anymore though, having been replaced by the Definitive edition.

  13. I love Unreal Engine games on Switch they look great. They did a really good job on this one

The best looking game on Switch imo
Wanted to continue my save after the demo but at some point I got a Steam Deck and got the game there. I need to say they look pretty similar (ips + higher graphics or oled + lower graphics)

It’s a shame the pokemon devs can’t make a game that looks half as decent as this.

Dragon quest XI was my first DQ game and I loved it. Really looking forward to DQ12.

Had Dragon Quest Treasures for Christmas so I’ve been enjoying that at the moment.

But … I thought the switch wasn’t Powerful enough to run Pokémon Scarlet, how can it run dragon quest without a single frame drop ?

    Game Freak u lazy bastards

Played most of it on the PS4 but did not finish it to get the true ending. Finally bought it for the switch last week because I felt compelled to add it to my collection because it really is a gem of a game. I highly recommend this game for all JRPG fans and gamers wanting to get into the genre!

I bought this game on the steam deck because it was cheaper but I really wish I just paid the extra money for the switch version. I’m not too far into the game, maybe like 4 hours, I just don’t feel like restarting lol
