theres the cool factor i guess, and the level up free items (incubators, lucky eggs, etc) but theres no advantage that i know of
Like the caption says, is there any benefit? I know that I get some cool poses and costume items and whatnot, but there’s not a game mechanic I’m missing right? I have access to XL candies and everything else that I need, and the items I get from leveling up are not as important to me.
As far as I can tell, the closest thing to a disadvantage I can come up with is that pokémon that are traded to me can only be at my level and below. So, I can’t get pokémon that are level 42+ traded to me. A pokémon that’s level 49.5 will be 41 when given to me, which is fine considering I don’t typically trade with pokémon that high level anyways. Is there something that I’m missing?
At the moment there is no real benift past Level 40. You can do some interesting quests and get some cosmeticts but that’s it. So no need to hurry anymore.

You get more lucky eggs when you get to 50…..

You can max out your Pokémon to level 50. That’s the only benefit I see. Especially when you factor in some of the level challenges

Well, it is more for the achievement. There was never a huge benefit from hitting those high levels, people just like the goal 🙂
You get quite a lot of rewards for leveling up and completing some level challenge special researches, and if I remember correctly, you get a free Mewtwo from the Level 50 research
After level 40 (really 38) it changes from prioritizing XP to prioritizing stardust.

Actually there’s an advantage of staying lvl 40-
Team rockets scale to your level, so you can already have lvl 50 pokemon (since you can farm XL candies) but still be 40, meaning they’re weaker than if you were a higher level.
Does this help you? Not really since Team rockets are generally a pushover anyway.

Honestly I think its after level 31(I think this is the right level might be 36 though) when you hit max wild pokemon level that technically leveling up doesnt really matter that much. lvl 41-50 are more just do as you want. I personally like the challenges you get each level and the special research you get every two levels I believe but no real reason to go out of your way to do it.

Correct. From here on out it’s just XP grind for the grind sake. Focus on stardust and XL candies.

Eh. I like doing the challenges in each level. Also I like to watch my XP bar move which you can’t do if you don’t keep up with the leveling.

You unlock all endgame content at level 40. You can power up Pokémon to level 50, and begin receiving rare XL candies in certain activities.
The endgame is level 50 Pokémon. There are no new activities or content. There are the challenges to get to level 50 that’ll give you some neat rewards, but nothing functionally different.
Level 50 is mainly a flex, since at level 40 you can reach peak performance.
Bragging rights and the occasional reward for leveling up, that’s pretty much it
