Trainer Lodge Showcase | Pokemon Masters EX | Johto Champion Stadium | Week 125

I guess this week’s challenge serves as the trainer lodge showcase that I never bothered to do.

So here are my thoughts on each of the lodge units:

May – that moment when the game makes a Walmart version of the same exact unit haha. Every situation I can think of where I’m not actively forcing myself to run Lodge May, I’m using May and Swampert. I wanna run a Hoenn water sync pair to activate Archie’s Master Passive? May and Swampert. I want to run a water DPS unit alongside my EX water striker? May and Swampert. I want a to run a team with water unit that isn’t an EX Striker? May and Swampert. The original is better than the lodge version. I even RAN the original alongside her since she struggled to get an off type clear by herself. I can’t see myself using Lodge May outside of maybe an Entei or Moltres clear

Professor Sycamore – Gardenia but better. He can pull the same numbers as her with less the setup and none of the drawbacks, the main one being stat drops  Would I say even after bringing him up to 5* and leveling him up to 150 that he’s better than my EX Brendan? Hard call, even though Lodge Professor Sycamore has none of the drawbacks that Brendan and Gardenia has, he lacks an EX to give him the push. Also, he doesn’t any readily available zone setters to help boost him damage even further for anyone that really wants big sync nuke numbers with him. SS Lyra is locked behind a Master Fair and Holiday Whitney and Halloween Iris are seasonal. I’ll probably be using him as a dual DPS with SS Erika and Plumeria.

Lillie – so the game tried to make her a debuffer, a unit with grass, normal, and fairy coverage, as well as a nuker. Lodge Lillie is the definition of everything in the kitchen sink. She does a lot of things…decently. She’s a great debuffer, yes, but requires a lot of setup to get big numbers with her sync nuke that it’s making me want to take Diantha and have her go ham with less work. Lodge Lillie reminds me of Ghetsis honestly. I will probably use Lodge Lillie as a third slot unit if I can’t think of anyone else to put in there or perhaps a Legendary Gauntlet nuker.

Serena – I just thought of Cursed Darach as the name to call her and I think that best describes her. Lodge Serena is built similarly to Lodge Lillie; poor DPS moves, big nuke. If I didn’t have Anniversary Skyla to make her look better I don’t know what I’d do. I will say that she pulls out better numbers than Kahili, so I’d run Lodge Serena over her any day. It takes quite a bit to set up debuffs for Lodge Serena’s passives, but the nuke is pretty decent! She’s best ran as Darach’s additional debuffer if you don’t have Anniversary Skyla.

Rosa – I could be biased here (I am) but I think Lodge Rosa is the best DPS unit out of all of them. She functions like Nessa and Drednaw with less setup and good damage numbers like them. You just need someone who can set rain and lower the defenses of the enemy team and Lodge Rosa will go brrrrrrrr on them.

Overall, my thoughts on the DPS trainer lodge units? They’re good. Obviously some are better than others. I will probably use them in Legendary Gauntlet versus Champion Stadium as they lack an EX to get in a good nuke to take out the middle unit in Champion Stadium or even to get in a pre sync nuke.

If you’re doing trainer lodge, go for your favorite units first. That’s my overall consensus.

  1. Here's are of my thoughts on the rest trainer lodge units that I currently have

    Lodge Silver
No. Just no. Whoever decided that Silver's status condition should be freezing, I hope you sleep on a warm pillow for the rest of your life. He's built functionally to be like Whitney, but I'd argue that WHITNEY is better than him. Not only is she free and can be 5/5 easily, paralysis is so much better than freezing. I run him as a flinch enabler for Crasher Wake in Legendary Arena over using him in Champion Stadium.

    Lodge N
Do not run him on an off type team. I tried doing that this week with Anniversary May, and it didn't go well. He's a good sleep chain bot, though I do need more practice as I don't really have that strategy down yet. I'll probably test his numbers and show him off in a future psychic weak Champion Stadium stage, but he's overall pretty good.

    Lodge Cynthia
A good support. She's one of the rare supports that buffs accuracy so I imagine that there may be a few team comps that she can be squeezed into. But overall I feel like she's more suited for Legendary Arena than Champion Stadium.

    Lodge Blue
If you want a better flinch enabler than Lodge Silver to run alongside Whitney, or Crasher Wake, or anyone that has an Interference Sync passive or a passive that boost damage when opponents are flinching, Lodge Blue has you covered. There are times when a lucky flinch from him saved me from getting swept by the opponents. I really like Lodge Blue a lot. The fact that he also raises crit means that I'm going to be using him more now in Champion Stadium and Legendary Arena.

    Lodge Elesa
She's a decent vampire support that moves at the speed of molasses. Lodge Elesa is built to be a support and debuffer hybrid so she has a place in several team comps, but don't let the leech life fool you into thinking she can be self sufficient and tank decently. I'm running NY Lillie over Lodge Elesa as my vampire support.

    Lodge Dawn
She comes with Vigilance on her grid so that's a W for me. Like Lodge Elesa, she's built as a support and debuffer hybrid, which makes her versatile for several team comps. It also opens up a variety of Lucky Skills you can run with her as she comes with Vigilance, as I previously mentioned. Which opens up even more team comps she can be in.

  2. My fav Lodge will be Lodge Lillie.
She a good Debuffer and got a really strong Sync Move
Plus Synchro Healing is a plus in my book if you nuke with her.
