The “sonar hit” that was missing from the pause menu music in a tweet earlier today is present in the actual game.
Also, life hack for y’all. Go into the Switch’s setting and swap the left and right stick around, then set the controls in-game to “1.2 Solitaire”. Feels a lot more natural and closer to “normal FPS” controls.
e: also, un-invert the aiming
e2: OK, don’t un-invert the aiming, you degens. I was just trying to jerry rig the closest possible approximation of “default modern dual-analog FPS controls” and in my experience they generally default to un-inverted
I wonder if they made any changes to the ROM for copyright reasons. (Or if things are getting patched live by the emulator like they do for some games)
Edit: It seems that [the ROM is a new version](https://twitter.com/OatmealDome/status/1618785735334825984?t=DZNMgQ2Lh48NacKCP0sQPw&s=19).

Just tried to play it with the Pro Controller and the controls are just absolutly butchered. Like they’re accurate but it’s so much worse than I expected. I killed one guy and died because I couldn’t coordinate the two sticks.
Well, that was fun for about three minutes.
It’s so weird. It removes the stupid NSO borders from the sides when you’re playing the game in missions . The only game so far to do this .
God this just further makes me regret getting the expansion pack because the controls fucking suck. I get the N64 controller had more buttons and shit but I wish they did a better job with the buttons in the emulation. Holding CR and using the face buttons for different functions just feels bad for me and the left stick sensitivity for this game seems all over the place but that might just be a product of it being an N64 game. I’ve had this issue with the buttons with every game I’ve played from the N64 offerings
I would simply purchase 4 Nintendo licensed Nintendo 64 Wireless Switch controllers for me and my gaming friends. Thank you Nintendo
Wait, did they finally figure out all the legal nonsense with this game?
if you’re using the n64 controller, it takes about 15 minutes for the muscle memory to return
No local coop? Only online? Seriously, Nintendo…
It’s also on gamepass….
I can’t imagine playing this game with a pro controller. I’m playing on Xbox cuz I’m very used to playing Perfect Dark with an Xbox controller and this game plays similar
Yet another N64 game, yet another reason I ponder why Nintendo has yet to implement any kind of control options for these things.
Oh well, at least there’s the system level options I guess…
