I really appreciate how flexible they’ve been with this series. Feels like a lot of indies will hit on something that works and then kinda just keep doing the same thing forever because hey, if it ain’t broke, why fix it.
There’s been Steamworld metroidvanias, tactics, card-based RPGs, and they’ve all been surprisingly solid. And I’m sorta expecting the same will be true for this game.

I’ll admit it’s throwing me a bit – but I’ve loved every SteamWorld so I’m gonna get it.

Super excited for this. I’ve tried out all the SteamWorld games, and I love how they keep stretching themselves to find new genres to take on.
The Dig series is obviously their stand out, and I really enjoyed both of them. I enjoyed Heist a lot as well. Hand of Gilgamech wasn’t able to hook me unfortunately, but I’ll give it a second chance one of these days. And then Tower Defense was a miss for me; they just didn’t try out anything new in that one. It was like every other Tower Defense, but it was Image & Form’s first game so it’s understandable.

This is like Sim City above ground, and Dungeon Keeper below ground. I bet you could sink some serious time into this.
