This is a list of games I bought with my SO in mind – the ones above 50 pts are the one that are quantitatively worth it (for us; YMMV).

Winners:
1. Stardew Valley
1. Overcooked 2
1. Overcooked
1. Tools Up
1. Snipperclips
1. Conduct Together
1. Drawful 2
1. Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
1. Mario Kart 8
1. Big Brain Academy
1. Little Dragons Cafe
I’d say that all the games in the pic are good for anyone with a non-gamer SO – mainly because I got them all on advice from “What should I play with my non-gamer gf” threads. The “winners” are just based on our taste. I really did all this just to put a number to all the money I “wasted” on the games now gathering dust, but a 70% success rate is pretty good!
Hoping this will give some recommendations, hoping to get some more recommendations.

We had great fun playing “it takes two” and my partner only really plays games when it’s with me (think that’s on switch too off the top of my head, we played that one on the PlayStation when we went through though so sorry if I remembered that wrong!)
Looks like they like games that are more like jobs and would probably put a ton of time into something like Animal Crossing or Two Point Hospital/Campus
I’ve found that **Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker** is a great game for casual players. Demo available! Has limited co-op mode too.
**Pokemon: Let’s Go** is another good option for something a little meatier. Also has a demo and co-op.
Zelda links awakening! Just got this game 2 weeks ago and have been recommending it to everyone
Moving forward, you should stop looking at the “what to get my non-gamer gf” threads. She’s clearly not interested in the most “non-gamer” games like Monopoly. She has 200 hours in Stardew. She also clearly likes solo games (unless those Stardew hours were co-op) so no need to spend more money on casual party games. Though there’s no timeline on your sheet, I’m guessing her interests changed since the start.
Also in the interest of money, try sticking to the indie or small studio games that don’t cost as much.
Edit to add: It might help to start looking for games considered “cozy”, not necessarily “casual”. They’re not mutually exclusive labels but I think framing it this way will help you find better matches. Try the Spiritfarer demo.
My gf really liked that SpongeBob game. Animal
Crossing and It Takes Two were big hits too.
She liked those narrative only games a lot as well like Jenny LeClue, Oxenfree, etc.
Try switch sports, party arcade and carnival games. All easy to play, gets you moving around more and can easily become drinking games for the weekend.
That’s a silly way to make comparison, as it doesn’t really tell you anything useful for future decisions.
Three most played games are stardew valley, animal crossing and Minecraft. So let her try farming simulators and cozy games, there are lots to choose from.
The most waist of money would be continuing to choose types of games she clearly have no interest in. I would stop looking at ‘what to play with no-gamer partner’ and start to look out for threads about cozy games, they often have farming elements. Also, they are usually indie games and on the cheaper side.
I don’t understand how you could say you wasted money on a game you played for 45 hours.
Dreamlight valley should be next on her list
I’m just curious, why did you pay full price for the first party Nintendo games, especially if it was kind of for “testing”? They’re always at at least €40-€45 as physical copies. Don’t know about other regions but I thought it was as common in the US than in EU. Digitally Little Dragon Café is frequently discounted at 75% and LEGO Harry Potter at 60%, if you don’t know it yet I recommend dekudeals in the future to save some money, and check physical editions of first party games, they’re usually cheaper than digitally. You do you ofc, that’s just suggestions.
