Team rocket leaders do not count.

Click the pokeball icon at the bottom, click the “Battle” button, scroll down and you see Blanche, Candela and Spark, you have to battle one of them 3 times, i recommend just doing Great League, its the easiest

You have to fight the coloured team leaders like Blanc in the battle pass part of the game…also the quests just after that one are so damn annoying so goodluck

But instead scroll all the way down and you’ll see the team color leaders

It’s the team leaders, not the Team Rocket Leaders.
I was having issues with this one too, until I figured out it meant battle Spark, my Team Yellow leader.

You need to find an IT department close to you and challenge a team leader there. Their weaknesses usually involves craft beer.

Because you didn’t do it at all.
You battled team rocket, or did PvP, or battled cliff/sierra/arlo.
None of which are team leaders.

I had the same issue when I hit that one. Don’t feel bad; if my Hubs hadn’t had the same conundrum so he knew to tell me I’d have been so lost!
If you open the main menu (click the PokéBall in the middle of the main screen), click Battle, and scroll down to the bottom, you’ll find an option to battle any of the 3 “friendly” team leaders. Like Candella is the Team Mystic leader. Battle 3 times w one of them and you’re good to go!

Omg this is a fucking flash back 😂 I forgot about that one, drove me absolutely insane, I did the exact same thing and eventually turned to Google to explain it to me 😂 they DID NOT make that easy to figure out, it’s in a super obscure spot to locate them too like I’d never have figured it out if I hadn’t looked it up
