GoldenEye is exactly what it has always been, who even cares what MVG thinks anymore?

What’s a mess about it? (Can’t watch at the moment)

I’ve been playing it and haven’t noticed any issues so far. It’s obviously unchanged from the N64 version but that’s exactly what we were promised.

This must be written by someone who never played goldeneye on the N64. It was a mess back then also, a glorious mess none the less.

  4. I just got to Silo and I’m having a blast, don’t understand why everyone is so mad.

People only wanna talk about negatives anymore, huh? Game better be perfect or else

Sounds like a lot of knit-picky things to whine about for views.

Why do I feel like I’m the only person enjoying the hell out of this game? I feel exactly as frustrated as I did when I was 8 trying to clear 00 Agent, but it’s so satisfying when everything goes right and you finally do!

It was a iffy back in 1997. the original cart was 12MB. That doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. The gameplay and AI is still is frustratingly good as ever.

I’m enjoying it enough but wish the controls were more like a regular FPS. Even remapping the sensitivity is terrible. Still having fun though.

I like MVG’s channel and while the title is a bit bait, I also understand you gotta bend to the YouTube machine to be on the platform.

Personally, I kind of like the Switch version more because Nintendo never sold it as anything more than the original game. The controls on Xbox are just so much easier if you aren’t using the N64 controller on the NSO version, but honestly the warts in the game look much worse upscaled to 4k. And I’m not noticing any performance enhancements. MAYBE it runs a bit smoother on Xbox, but I’m not noticing much in my playthroughts on both systems.

I wish we could’ve gotten the Rare XBLA version, but I understand why we didn’t. Negotiations like this probably meant everyone got a little piece of the pie but no side got everything they wanted.

Why are people downvoting this?, he pointed out some very interesting and valid points in his video.

The launch of GoldenEye was good and I’m having a blast with the game, but it could have been much better especially on Series X where there are several problems like frame-passing issues and textures with glitches, much weaker PCs can emulate the game well best.

We need to recognize that this is not perfect, just to have some improvement.

  12. From the comments:

    > There’s a saying in my country that you can spit in people’s faces, and they’ll keep claiming it’s just the rain. That’s exactly what’s happening with Nintendo fanbase. I own Switch myself, but many of Big N’s practices are ridiculous and I will not support them with my money.

Can’t say I disagree. The comments in this thread are all the proof you need.

People who may have missed this era expecting graphical overhauls and modernised controls when it’s simply an emulation of an n64 game. If you don’t like it play the n64 version maybe? You will be more disappointed if that’s what you’re after.

There’s plenty of remakes and versions available you can enjoy.

Video Summary: Waaa I cant learn new control schemes despite older gamers mastering them decades ago waaaa. I wanna be good without any effort waaaaa.

MVG shitting on the Switch? No way he’d never do that. 🙄

I was confused because I’ve been loving it and seeing nothing but praise besides the usual NSO complaining until I saw that.

  16. SideQuestWriter87

It’s the game I remember from when I was 10. Having lots of fun with it, but yeah, it’s old! I don’t know what people expected.

Console shooters from this era, by and large, haven’t aged well.

  17. Agreeable_Paint_4786

Plays how I remember it- had an absolute blast playing it with friends yesterday. Baffles me how people expect an NSO game to be a remaster or something other than exactly what it is.

  18. squishyliquid

It’s unplayable with the controls as is, but once I found the solution it was fine.

  19. zoltar-wisdom

They made a whole ass remaster with updated controls and graphics, just release that!

Fucking money and licensing bullshit. Greed ruins everything.

  20. No_Telephone9938

If you don’t care about portability, you’re much better off playing the XBLA version the Xenia emulator if you have a good enough pc, much better graphics, much better frame rates and much better control scheme

  21. IrrelevantLeprechaun

It’s a better remaster than any that have ever been released.

    MVG is just farming clicks.
