but this is exciting, if this is being dropped I expect 2/3 are works in progress or finished to be dropped on the path to eventually releasing 4(2024 title maybe?).

I loved this game on gamecube. Idk why but the main menu screen gave me chills as a kid. I got the trilogy on wii but I haven’t gotten a chance to play it. I hope the other 3 primes come to switch soon

So I’ve seen it mentioned that they have an option for classic, GameCube style controls. Is the updated control scheme like that of a traditional FPS with one stick to move and the other to aim, or is it like how it was in the trilogy remakes with motion controls?
Edit: just bought it. It includes; classic, dual-stick, point, and hybrid control schemes. You can also use gyro aim with dual-stick if that suits you.

Anyone else think the price is ridiculous? All three games were $20 on Wii U. Better graphics doesn’t really change the fact that this is way overpriced. Plus, as someone who played them all for the first time last year, I genuinely think 2 is better then 1.

Bought and played an hour. This deserves so much more than a trailer and shadow drop. I never played the Trilogy, but from the Gamecube version this is a huge step up in graphics and the dual stick controls are awesome.
But most importantly, the game itself still holds up. Love all lore via the scanning. This was the best Gamecube game for me, a Ocarina moment for Metroid. Unmissable for any Nintendo fans. Yeah, it deserved a better hype cycle than this. Good price though.

I’ve been playing it, and my god was this handled well. Game looks, plays, and runs amazing. My only complaint is that it’s been way to easy so far.
So much confidence in retro for prime 4 if this came from them.

For 40 bucks it should be the full trilogy, he’ll I’d probably pay 60 for it, but one game should be 20 bucks. Valve released portal 1 and 2 on switch for 20 bucks last year, 2 absolutely stellar classics which imo are both better game than og Metroid prime. I know it’s a weird comparison, but the point is the nintendo tax on this is brutal.

People, this is what a proper remake looks like. This looks incredible. Completely redone lighting, environments, models and effects.
While Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess HD were so incredibly lazy for a higher price.. Still makes me sad.

I’ll never forget playing this for the first time on GameCube. Metroid Prime is a core memory for me and is a defining point in shaping me as a gamer. I’m so happy that a new generation who wasn’t there the first time gets to experience this masterpiece with incredibly slick modern visuals.
The wait for Prime 4 just got a lot more bearable.

I played this last night, I still have a Wii U plugged in and play the first three using motion control. I was pleased to see the motion control worked very well on this remaster. I look forward to beating this again!

I got REALLY excited because I automatically thought this was the whole trilogy. Still awesome. But I wonder what the odds are of the next two getting this treatment. Probably slim. It’ll be super weird getting used to the new controls and then going back to play 2 and 3 with motion controls.
