Idiot. Plain and simple.
I really thought this was going to be a The Onion article
He’s must really love farming games and bad sports titles
I just skiped classes, no need to be an Idiot.
One time I skipped class in highschool to watch a direct live.
Talk about entitled. Give that student an F
Least Insane Nintendo Fan.
Then skip class
Least aggressive Nintendo fan
That seems like a dumb idea
It was an F-Zero fan
Like… watch it later
Weird, I thought I was not subscribed to /r/tomorrow
Or, you know, just be an adult and wait until after class to watch or get a recap.
I hope this student is not disappointed
I think all y’all in this thread are interpreting this incorrectly.
All the student said was that there was a “once in. a life time event” today and that the teacher should “cancel class for the sake of humanity” which while completely understandable how that could be taken the wrong way, is the exact kind of exaggerated pathos I would use in a joke email to a professor asking for class to be cancelled in observance of a direct.
Like the shit about him being entitled or whatever is dumb. Clearly just a dumb joke that blew up a bit. He honestly should’ve added the tweet for context instead of leaving it so vague though.
And no I’m not the idiot in question…
My class ends at 2 so I can watch the direct right after.
If I can accidentally find out Smash Ultimate got announced via Reddit because I was in class during the Direct and survive, you can get through this one as well
Based on the language it seems like a poor/awkward attempt at humor by someone that doesn’t understand delivery, environment or even social situations.
Man if Smash DLC was still going on it would be easy to guess what they wanted to see.
Reminds me of the time a man put “Time to [Smash logo]” on his school whiteboard on Ultimate’s release date and the school had to evacuate
It’s not a threat. Just really, really dumb word choice that could easily be perceived as a threat.
This is fucking embarrassing. You’re in college. Just don’t go to class if this is so important to you.
This feels like “talking about bombs in the TSA Security line” levels of lack of common sense. Though I imagine the student didn’t think it would be perceived as an actual threat. Still, stupid.
Just bring a laptop to class and watch it in the corner of your screen like every other college student / nintendo fan. Or wait one goddamn hour and watch it after.
>once in a lifetime event
Well FIRST of all …
in high school someone did a bomb threat for the release day of GTA IV
the school was like “we’re not closing for the day, but if students don’t feel safe they can stay home” so I convinced my mom it wasn’t safe to go to school and I stayed home to play GTA IV. That dumbass was a martyr for the rest of us to get to play GTA. Too bad this guy’s plan was less effective.
if you read what actually happened, it’s just someone joking about please canceling class “for the good of humanity”. and then that was taken to mean “oh shit he’s going to shoot up the school.” this person seems like a normal dude you guys. chill.
Just skip class like a normal college student! Damn gen z… Haha
