Nintendo Switch

With all this Metroid hype I thought I’d share this diptych I made of Samus recently. Dread was amazing and I’ll be getting Prime Remastered once it’s out physically!

That picture is great, nice job. Something about the shading on the right (her left) arm throws my gaze off a bit, makes her arm look super wide at first. I loved Prime and am really enjoying the Remaster right now, so have fun!

I’m not trying to shit on it for anyone else, but I just can’t get hyped for a game I’ve been playing for 20 years. Nintendo is failing to put out cool games. Metroid 4 should at least be announced (if it’s in development).

That is dope. What is a diptych?

  4. I’ve never played any Metroid game where should I start? I’ve got a Nintendo Switch

Looks awesome! My only wish is that you’d kept the human proportions for the Power-suit side of the picture as well.

It’s totally possible to make a badass looking Samus in power suit that still has proper human proportions (rather than the wasp-waisted thing that Nintendo does, with impossibly wide shoulders)

We’ve seen both other fan artists do it, and IRL cosplayers that have made awesome Samus cosplays do it as well.

    But still, rad art!

The downvotes are unnecessary, but also sadly predictable.

You can appreciate good art while also acknowledging larger problems in how women are portrayed in art.

I still haven’t played this yet. Metroid Fusion is in my top 10 all-time favorites. How does Dread compare?

I’ve never heard of a “diptych” before (learned a new word! Heh), but that looks really awesome OP! Thanks for sharing.

So as someone who knows basically nothing about Metroid other than the main character’s name being Samus Aran, what makes her and the series special?

Yes, I agree Metroid Dread was very good. I was disappointed there was no Ridley, but everything else in the game was top notch.

Now, to play Metroid Prime when it comes out. (I’m probably one of the rare people who haven’t played any of the original Prime titles, that will change later this month.)

For a second, I thought that shadowed portion of her left arm was just part of her arm and was wondering why Sami’s was fkn jacked in your rendering

You should do one for Fusion. It has a bit of a Halloween vibe to it!

I love it! That’s such an awesome diptych! I got my switch oled 2 months ago, and I played the demo version of Metroid Dread, and I loved every bit of it! Although I didn’t complete the whole demo, I got stuck in a certain area and kept trying, but I didn’t get past it. 😄 Having said that, I am definitely going to pick up the physical copies of both Metroid Prime Remasteree and Metroid Dread for the switch! I love this series so much, even though I haven’t played the other games in this fantastic franchise. 🙂

When Fusion drops on the Expansion Pass we’ll have the entire 2d saga on Switch

I also liked dread a lot and might get the prime remaster as well.
