I used a lucky egg for this today (also did a raid with a bunch of friends and got 100,000+ xp which does add up. 30,000 xp extra is nothing to laugh at, especially when most things give small xp.

When that timer reaches 0, it’s gone. That’s why it’s in the timed section. Timed stuff will never last

May i chime in to say: this was by far the worst pvp day i have ever seen in this game.
And i like pvp. But the amount of absolute sweaty neckbeard teams in the low ranks i am in was baffeling.
More then 50% of all matches where tankers – and no, none of them where throwing matches because they all tanked low before to have as many wins today for the shinies.
How niantic thought this was not going to backfire with the already existing problem is beyond me
