  1. Why would they the console is still selling at the current price. Especially with a new Zelda coming out.

RIP the chances of Nintendo Selects for Switch then ig

Eveverything is going up with inflation. Holding steady IS a price cut.

Shows confidence in the system I.e. encouraged 3rd parties to keep making games.

Guarantees faster uptake of their next new console. If you know it isn’t going to go way down in a year, people are more apt to go crazy trying to get their hands on it.

Despite the recent financials, they’re making way too much money on games to release a Switch 2 now. See you in 2024.

Pfft silly Nintendo, Playstation was Uncharted territory. Your IPs are Mario and stuff.

As someone who just bought a switch for his cousin’s kids.

    Good.

I have never seen a “switch price cut”. Every “sale” I’ve seen from every store since 2018 has been “$299.99”.

If they’re not going to lower console prices, that means sequels and retro rereleases/remakes. Hence the Direct with Game Boy and Metroid Prime Remastered. I bet it starts to resemble when the Wii U wasn’t hitting and they were bringing every classic game they could to it. Maybe an Mario Odyssey 2, more ports of GameCube and Wii titles? This thing is going to have Game Boy legs, they gotta fill store space.

  10. the press: “enters uncharted territory”

meanwhile edging closer to most sold console ever and 20 million pokemon S/V sold in 2-3 months.

Everyone is increasing price,…Nintendo keeps the hardware price steady, that’s that.

I still can’t believe there hasn’t been a significant hardware upgrade in nearly 6 years. OLED screen really doesn’t count.

Ie people keep paying for overpriced ancient tech why the hell would we lower the price if people keep throwing money at us?

They just need to make sure new games are made available. Virtual console would still be cool for those not interested in the online subscription. Just wish there was more oomph with western RPGs though.
