So, playing the demo right now. I’m loving it so far, feels like a ps1 jrpg in a modern package. Reminds me of Breath of Fire 4 which I loved so much as a kid.
A few criticisms tho:
– Some combat mechanics need to be explained more thoroughly, like the boomerang skill that can be bounced repeatedly when pressing a (on the switch). I figured it out on the next try, but it should be clear from the get go.
– I picked up a few items from the ground but the UI only showed an icon and a number (icon x1). Imo it should at least indicate what I picked up. I had to open my bag to find out it was a few potatoes.
Other than that this looks really good. Looking forward to it.

Anyone know how long the demo is?

This wasn’t on my radar before, but the visuals blew me away. In general, I’m really enjoying the current trend of pixel art as an artistic medium, freed from the shackles of technical limitations.

Just finished the demo. Really enjoyed it. It looks beautiful and the music is great too! Agree with another poster here that some of the combat mechanics need to be explained more clearly. Looming forward to the full game release, even though it’s ages away. I remember them saying there were going to be 6 playable characters, and there’s spots for 6 in the menu, so I’m keen to see what the other characters are like!

I’ve been waiting for this ever since the first announcement at a Nintendo Direct in 2021. Only got to play about 15min of the demo so far but really enjoyed it. Takes me back to the joy of playing through Chrono Trigger on an emulator on the family PC back in like 2001

In the demo when you get into the whatchamacallit, the whatever where they blow up the door. What are you supposed to do when you get in there? It says something about combining crystals or light or something but I’ve been over every inch if it and pressed every button but nothing happens. What exactly are you supposed to do in there?
