Since it’s almost a year since the online icon elements have been introduced as of March 1st of last year, I decided to compile an entire infographic of the entirety of the icon element library. This is also in part that there isn’t really an up-to-date archive or list of the online icons, so I felt it was necessary to show all the icons that has been available. This includes all icons added from March 1, 2022 up to February 24, 2023, since we’re likely not getting new icons until March.
Within a year, there has been a whopping 2063 different icon elements (combined icons, backgrounds, and borders). Yes, we largely had a lot of repeat runs (looking at you, Mario Odyssey), but within a year it opens up to a lot of different icon possibilities for online users.
Note that some dates on the infographic are largely timezone dependent but should be close enough to their start/end date. I didn’t include any dates of rerun sessions of previous icon sets (such as the one near the end of 2022). The elements aren’t sorted in any particular way. And yeah, they’re somewhat shrunken down in order to make the infographic a manageable file size.
But hoo, that took me a while to do. I hope you enjoy it.
I kinda feel bad that 3H fans didn’t any because I thought they were going to do icons when 3 Hopes released.
They really didn’t make Mario party ones 😔

I hope they let you mix different game icons. Like why can’t I use mario kart frames with mario oddesy characters?

After realizing how it works yesterday, and I haven’t been getting the elements (Since I had NSO since the beginning), I was getting real FOMO. Thank you for putting this together, I hope they rotate them back in someday.

Appreciate this, I’ve been looking for ages for a list of all the Breath of the Wild ones since I know I missed a week during its initial run, but I don’t know if they all returned when it came back for its second run. Now I know I’m missing 11 of them…
Also disappointed to see I’m missing 6 Splatoon 3 ones. I thought I had all of those.
I’m still pissed that they didn’t include a cartoon Luigi in the Mario Kart line but like 20 others

We are honoring profile pictures..? That should be freely editable by everyone to any image they want that has been industry standard since 2010..?
They made an icon for Ceruledge but not Armarouge, they knew which one was the fan favorite.
Still ridiculous there is no “acquire all of them” button ; such a waste of time.
I’d like it if they made unlockable icons for games. Like achievements but instead you get an icon from that specific game
I unironically bought NSO again to get XB3 icons no regrets
all those animal crossing icons yet they abandoned the game itself 🙁
I’ll never understand why these are:
1. time exclusive
2. unable to mix-and-match across games
Nintendo is always one step forward and two steps back
I wonder if we’ll gonna get another “year-long” big one when March rolls around? As someone who doesn’t really care about Animal Crossing, it’d be neat if some other games got the treatment of having a large year-long icon set. Pokemon would be especially cool, imagine being able to use icons of ANY Pokemon!
