Niantic playing with my feelings, runs everytime . is there any particular reason for it?

Makes it more interesting. It’s also to replicate the fleeing that they do in the main line games. You’d have to chase them a bit before you get to catch them.

  2. Co1iflower

It replicates the mechanics of the main series games, and gives you a reason to use your incense every day.

One showed up for me the other day, I got a great throw off and it didn’t take but screwed the second throw and away it went. I was wondering if that hack that was posted earlier on how you can get your third excellent throw in a row by turning off mobile data and if your throw’s no good you turn off mobile data and reboot the game or something (I’m not sure of the actual process) would work with these elusive birds.

Platinum medals for flying, fighting, dark, and psychic help

Geez… it’s been so long since I’ve seen a Galarian bird, I thought they weren’t spawning anymore.

Ninatic decided to do a funny with the Galarian birds and give them not only a 90% chance to flee if they break out of the ball, but a base chance of 0.3% to stay in the ball

tldr: Galarian Birds in Pokemon Go have a flee rate of 90%, and a base catch rate of 0.3%, that, assuming the best circumstance, can only go up to about 32%

    According to these two comments:

The best possible chance for a Galarian bird to stay in the ball, with a Curved Excellent throw, Ultra Ball and Golden Razz, platinum medals(explained in a different comment on this post), AND the bird having a low Level (basically having a really low cp(or combat power)), the highest you can get a Galarian bird’s catch chance is ~32%

That’s hitting it with an Excellent Curve ball, Golden Razz Ultra ball 3 TIMES for it to be caught! And that doesn’t even factor in the 90% flee rate when it does end up breaking out, or the chance of it even showing up!

I think the way they implemented Galarian birds is great. There is no pay to win, everyone gets 15 minutes a day and it can be done no matter where you are (rural or urban).
It also makes them feel like actual legendaries, that are hard to catch and feel much more special when you actually do catch them, as opposed to legendaries in raids which are just throwing raid passes at legendaries to farm candies

It ran from me too, yesterday 🥲

How do I find this one?? I’ve never seen it before

  10. JDizzleer

I caught articuno couple days ago….. I was absolutely shocked.

Keep the catch rate but at least make them appear a little more often

I just pray for a level one every time I see a bird. Otherwise i know I’m not catching it.

Used daily everyday since December. Do a loop walk that’s 2k while is on. Normally runs out about 3/4 of the way. Never seen a birb. Not even once

I’ve used a daily incense almost everyday now for like 7 months and haven’t seen a bird. Only seen one and that was my first time using daily so it gave me false hope. “Oh he ran away? Oh well if I keep trying every day I’ll catch him!” Never saw one again. If anyone knows what is the rate for spawn on them?

  15. Obstreporous1

They don’t want you to catch them all.

Alright I am passing along this bit of info I found in an article somewhere, probably Dexerto but can’t remember right off.

When you get the bird on the catch screen, “throw away” or deliberately miss the bird with about 10 balls or so – reason being, your catch rate increases slightly with missed throw. Also use a silver pinap berry (they specifically said this and not the golden razz, I’m not sure why) and an ultra ball.

This is not 100% guaranteed to work, BUT I did try this method with the Latias research in the Hoenn event because I heard people complaining about it being difficult to catch. I was able to catch the one I found in the wild on the “first” try (not counting the 10 I threw away). I have not tried this on a Galarian bird bc I haven’t had an encounter since the very first time I used the incense when they first dropped it, but if I ever see another one, I’m trying it.

    Good luck, hope this helps.

Because Niantic think making a game super frustrating is a good idea.

  18. I didn t know they could flee… I found the zapdos, berry, ultraball and he went inside. Now i am scared …

  19. It supposed to be hard to catch, if they made it easy, everyone would have one and it wouldn’t be rare

  20. [deleted]

give him berries drop the first ball on the ground , try to catch it with the 2nd worked 3 times for me by now

Everytime I get a special bird, I yell to my husband, “hey honey, guess what? ITS GONNA RUN!” I throw the PokeBall, it runs, we cheer.

  22. Tiger-gal

Just keep trying. One day you will catch it. I finally caught Articuno last night with only great throw. It was a critical catch! I was screaming on middle of road like a crazy woman.
