I just played through both of these games late last year and they’re phenomenal. I’m actually listening to the soundtrack right now. Highly recommend, especially at that price. Beautiful metroidvania games.

  2. Both Ori games for just a bit more than a tenner is a MONUMENTAL steal.. absolutely sublime experiences that you don’t want to miss out on!

  3. AveragePichu

I got them for about $30 between them and that was an excellent value, about 30 hours of playtime and two of my most enjoyed games ever for those hours. $11 is a steal, if you like cute aesthetics and platforming NOBODY should skip this offer.

  4. Dukemon102

Both are available physically in **Ori The Collection.**

I didn’t like the Blind Forest that much. It’s a 2D platformer with Metroidvania elements tacked on. And the combat is just mashing Y for everything to die automatically. Having to make checkpoints yourself with magic is a novel idea, but it wasn’t well executed when there are a ton of insta-kill hazards.

The Will of the Wisps however, is one of the best games I’ve played. Map design, combat, gameplay, no more self-made checkpoints. All got severely improved. I liked it more than Hollow Knight (Because it doesn’t drag on forever).

And they both run and look great on the Switch. Especially my Oled.

  6. PM_ME_YOUR_WIFENUDES

Bought them both full price and they are two of my favorite gaming experiences on the switch. Highly recommend at least trying the first game if you are curious, especially at this price

  7. MissingLink000

I’m not a big 2d platformer guy but even I would put both these games in S-tier. Really incredible, you should definitely take advantage of this deal if you don’t have them.

  8. abrainaneurysm

Looks like I’m finally buying Ori and the Blind Forest when I get home from work.

  9. Both games are worth picking up.

Just know Blind Forest is much more a platformer with light combat elements.

Will of the Wisps, it feels like they took a lot of the criticisms aimed at that, and fleshed out a much more interesting combat system and it has more interesting boss fights.

Will of the Wisps improves upon Blind Forest in just about every way possible. I think it’s worth playing both, but definitely recommend playing them in order so that you save the best for last.

I also love the kind of hub world and NPCs they added for Will of the Wisps, which makes the world feel a lot more alive and connected.

Will of the Wisps is in my top 5 of best games I’ve ever played. Highly recommend it

  11. boofjensen

I have both of these on PC, but I’m tempted to get them on the switch at these prices…

  12. houndsofhate

How much backtracking is there in these games? I have plays a few Metroidvanias and much prefer ones where there is some backtracking but not much.

  13. boofjensen

How’s the performance on the sequel? It looks amazing on PC so I’m worried it won’t look great on switch. Is it locked at 30 fps?

  14. notnotj0hn

I really don’t have a lot of time to play games these days. Is Will of the Wisps still worth playing without playing Blind Forest? I hear it improves a lot over the first game but I don’t want to be completely lost just jumping into the second. I’m kind of at the point where I either play only WOTW, or neither at all

  15. raxitron

On Steam I already own Ori 1 so the bundle (of just 2 items) was at a discount bringing my total for Ori 2 to $5.39.

  16. Im_Not_That_Smart_

Hmm, I almost bought it when it was ~50% off. There is no way these go any cheaper than this. I think I’ll finally buy these and see how it goes.

  17. A_knight_I_am

I literally stopped myself from buying this on a whim last night, told myself to air until they were on sale! Lucky me!!!!

  18. TimeEggLayer

Visually stunning games with stunning soundtracks. Some of my all-time favorites.

  19. TSTUMPMAN

These games are incredibly easy to recommend to just about anyone who likes video games.

  20. skeanbeen

Loved both of these. 100% both and kept wishing there was more. Metroidvania masterpieces. Up there with Hollow Knight if you’ve played that

  21. maxdamage4

Thanks so much for the heads up! I just bought Will of the Wisps. Already owned it (unplayed) on Steam, but I just got a Switch and it’ll be perfect on this platform.

  22. Sage-of-Hyrule

Just got both; thank you for sharing!

  23. Existing365Chocolate

Easily the two best Metroidvania games out there, especially the second one. Highly recommend them both

  24. Incredible games. Both are equally great, with a few differences.

The first game (Ori and the Blind Forest) focuses more on platforming, puzzles, and challenging navigation while preserving your energy and health. It has some combat, but it’s not as deep as the sequel.

The sequel (Ori and the Will of the Wisps) has a more “natural” approach to the puzzle and platforming design, blending them better to the general environment. It also has a more complex combat, and a different leveling system.

Both games run well on the Switch. I also recommend using headphones for the orchestrated soundtrack.

  25. Super_Actuator2584

Whoa baby I got both for $7.50 each earlier in the year and thought it was a major steal then! These prices are ridiculous, makes these games a true must-own for any Switch owner!

  26. 1ce_C1rcu1t

What is the big deal with this game series? Then again, I got sick of sidescrollers after SNES days

  27. majoramoonlight

    Buy. These. Games.

    They’re unmissable.

  28. FakeRingin

You really don’t get a better deal than this. $11 for 2 10/10 games?

  29. WowSoFetch

Brilliant games. Some of the best side scrollers ever made

  30. DINGERSandBEER

Both are worth every penny. The metacritic scores over 90 are well earned, and Will of the Wisps is devastatingly perfect. I envy anyone who hasn’t played them yet.

  31. Anyone else really struggle with the first one after playing the second? Is kind of tough to get into comparatively

  32. hollowpotato-of-doom

So should I buy Will of the Wisps for cheap and take my time to do all the achievements and challenges that would take a long time such as 1-life mode, or should I just borrow it from my library for free and finish most of it?

  33. Thanks OP, just snagged both with gold points so ended up paying nothing for them! Can’t wait to start playing once I get back to my home 😌

  34. MagicPistol

Thanks for reminding me that I bought Will of the Wisps a long time ago during a sale, but still haven’t touched it lol…

And the reason I haven’t touched it is because I have Blind Forest on steam and haven’t beaten it yet. Ugh.

  35. CMDR_Pewpewpewpew

Ori is great until you get to that fucking tree that fills with water

  36. AbigailofDarkness

I’ve had Ori and the blind forest for a while now but I just picked up will of the wisps because of this post.

  37. Is there an easy way to buy out of region? This is $45 on my local estore

  38. Deathmaw360

well… guess its time to buy Blind Forest on Switch, for the very vain reason of Xbox Achievements… always thought it would be neat to have a Switch played game on my list but any that supported achievements I’d already played so didn’t want to rebuy.

  39. YoBoySatan

Will of the wisps is GOAT metroidvania and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise

  40. StrawberryLast

probably maximizing ori sales before silksong drops

  41. PokemonDriven

I’ve never played these indie title games I’ve always thought of them like cheap phone games. Are they getting good these days to pay for?
