Mario’s scat fetish is getting out of hand

God, I remember the attachable screen being one of the main selling points of the PS One, and it was such a good thing for long car trips when I was a kid. Wild that Ninty didn’t attempt it

A shame that the figurines alongside it were stolen. Wonder if they’ll ever surface.
An add-on 3D display more expensive than the console itself is now perfectly common! Interesting.

Everyone talks shit about how many polygons each strand of hair has but Nintendo’s been doing some crazy stuff with innovating new ways to experience games. Glassesless 3D in the Gamecube era! Nuts!

The GameCube was so sick, you could put a gameboy player attachment on the bottom and you could play gameboy games on your tv

Early-00s LCD displays were hot garbage though.
My cousin had a portable DVD player around 2002-2003, and you could barely see the movie through the mess of motion blur. I can’t imagine playing Mario Sunshine like that for long.

Anyone know what game is displayed and what those figurines are?

i am still wondering how they could sell the gamecube so cheap..
it was like 50$ or 80$ or something. you had a full console that was able to play gameboy games on a TV (with an attachment). thats insane

GC was such a powerhouse. It was trying to be a switch years before.

When we were kids, my friend used to bring his GameCube over, and we’d hook it up to the TV and play. He eventually got one of those GameCube screens, and we’d crowd around and play off of that instead, right in front of the now unused TV. It was dumb, but the novelty of playing with such a tiny screen was too cool to pass up.

I have a thing like this for my GC. It is not very good lol. But an official one might have been better. Most importantly I think it would have helped justify the odd form factor.

I had the intec version of this and used it in the car when my gf ( my now wife) would boot back and forth to school, which was a several hour drive

I love that now the XBSX has this.

I remember I used to have an attachable screen for the Gamecube, we used it in the car a lot

It was already known years ago, do these article authors not do research lmao

I actually still have my gamecube and mini-LCD, flip-up screen lmfao. It was a very flakey experience, sometimes it worked, other times you had to angle the screen juuuuust right otherwise the display would freak out. I use to play Tiger Woods PGA Tour with it, and super smash bros. Pretty sure it all still works last I checked. It was amazing as a kid.

320×240 = high quality… yikes!

Pretty dang sure a lot of us have known about this YEARS ago thanks to Did You Know Gaming and whatnot. Eurogamer and Kotaku were just late to the party.
