In two scenes of this thereās a noticeable gap in the far shots of Mario, Peach, and Toad. Iām not sure who this mysterious fourth character could be or if thereās one at all, but considering most Mario games are capped at 4 players they might have edited them out as a surprise on release. I wanna bet on Rosalina since Luma was shown though!

At this point it’s a must watch for anyone with a modicum of interest in the franchise because holy shit that rainbow road segment alone looks like it’s going to kick 12 kinds of ass.
And FIRE DONKEY KONG? Just seeing him in a hero role after whatever the colosseum fight will be looks sweet.

When Mario jumped on the koopa in the kart to get a green shell and then throws it behind him I got a big smile, so much more fun to watch than him hitting a question mark block

If this movie is as good as it looks and Illumination is smart, this will be the start of something big. Imagine this leading into a Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, etc. movie all culminating in Super Smash Bros. I know it’s a pipe dream and I’ll be happy if just this movie is entertaining, but between Sonic being decent, The Last of Us being fantastic, and the Mario Movie looking solid, we could be headed toward a golden age of video game movies.
