If you do any legendary raids at the moment, HoOh + Nanab is your best bet

Pick a legendary that you don’t care too much about catching and give it 4 nanab berries so it won’t move or attack you. Then try to get your excellent throws in

Pick your battles.
Set aside a moment/day to do it. Save some nanabs and only click on Pokémon you can reliably throw them on. Slowpoke was great, things like snorlax are perfect. Choose something that’s common where you are and practice on that. Grimer is part of the event starting tomorrow and I find that one relatively easy so maybe practice on that or any of the event spawns that you prefer and will be everywhere this week.

Why are people recommending Nana on a Lego raid? Don’t people know how to lock the circle? Its a very old trick where you throw during the attack animation and makes it easy to get every throw on a raid poke excellent

There has to be some local discord chat community in your area. Find it.
Someone has to be posting active parks and farm locations. Locate that thread.
Find a ponyta or other super duper easy close up pokémon farm by you. Go there.
Use banana berries and take your time. If you’re really nervous… Use the circle lock trick and wait for the attacks just like a legendary raid boss.

There is, or was, a bug that can help. Tap on mon you want to capture, turn on airplane mode. Make the throw. If it’s excellent, switch out of airplane mode. If it’s not, closes the app, exit airplane mode, relaunch the app, and the missed throw doesn’t count. Good luck!
