All the praise is true. Prime is a damn near perfect game.

  2. Hangmanned

Is it known more or less how much it sold(I only know the physical is sold out pretty much everywhere)?

  3. renoits06

The fact that Metroid has sold so well ( from what I hear ) gives me a lot of hope that they will give the franchise A LOT more attention.

How could the franchise with thee best game in SNES be ignored 🙁

  4. someguyfromtecate

Found a physical copy at a Wal-Mart last night, the last one in their inventory. I can’t wait to get off work so I can play this bad boy all weekend.

Dread did well, this is also doing stellar, good momentum seeing fusion come through. The pump is primed (*pun*) for 2, 3, and 4.

Hell, up-rez the one from 3DS they remade and bring that over as well!

  6. I’d like to buy this, but only if they restock the physical supply. Here’s to hoping it wasn’t a one and done print…

My physical Amazon copy got delayed to the 6th or 7th, fingers crossed it actually comes

I am playing right now first time!

First impression:This is good old zelda!

I want to play this game but everytime I hear someone talk about all the early 2000’s game design quirks I just think like…man I don’t have time for all this.

How is it for someone that never played any metroid, but loves games like GoW, Dark Souls and Hades? Does it hold up without the nostalgia glasses?

It’s almost a Halo Anniversary level remaster. Really loving it. It’s been a long time since I played because I’d been hoping for so long they’d do a Switch version

  12. I’m just going to tell myself that since it sold out physically instantly that it otherwise *would* have sold an infinite amount of copies therefore making it the best selling game of all time by a factor of infinity.

I will **not** be moved on this position.

Once I finish with Hogwarts Legacy I’m likely going to dive into this. Honestly would have played this first, but I want a physical copy and wasn’t able to secure one initially.

If only if we’re available to purchase

Ngl, the word ‘accolades’ in the title gave me some false hope.

When discussing how the Switch really needs some of the features of the other online services, one of the ones I really want is their own Trophy/Achievement system. And I’ve always thought given the Nintendo brand, accolades would be the perfect moniker

Metroid is taking over. Move over Mario. I wonder if there is a new one in the works

although I’d purchased metroid prime in various platforms over the years, I haven’t actually played through any of them for some reason.

Maybe 30 minutes on GameCube way back then. I just couldn’t get into it.

Here I am, playing this game for the first time in 20 years, I’m in awe of how great of an experience this game is. I am playing this game with a GameCube style controller, and just amazed and mad at myself for not playing this game until now.

But here I am, on my OLED switch, enjoying the on-the-go experience, I’m in love.

I just can’t seem to pull the trigger on this game. I’ve never played Metroid, but the gameplay, despite being a major leap in graphics from the original, just looks very dated to me.

Everyone is praising it, so I’m tempted but I have no nastalgia for the series and the gameplay doesn’t look special to me.

Can someone explain to me WHAT makes this game good, so I can justify spending the $$ lol

_sometjing something_ PHYSICAL COPY _something something_ SOLD OUT _something something_ …

  20. VanillaCupkake

Went to 3 stores and could not find this game…

  21. caracarn

Pumped to try this one out for the first time! Super Metroid is one of my favourite game from back in the days

  22. Holding out for a physical copy is *suffering*.

  23. Alert_Confusion

Hopefully this is reason enough for Nintendo to greenlight Prime 2 and 3 remasters.

  24. sconwaym

I’m really enjoying this game (my first in the prime series), but for whatever reason I like backtracking more in 2d than 3d. Really my only beef with the game so far, other than some of the bosses being only so so.

“Better than the RealDoll version of Samus!” – IGN 9.2/10

  26. jadak100

Gee Nintendo, who would’ve thunk that metroid was and still is a profitable franchise….took you long enough you ding dongs

  27. TrueAfricanHero

Metroid Prime is a great game. Who knew?!

  28. Megablep

Now I want to play through it again… 10/10 game and an absolutely sublime remaster.
People who waited for the physical release are in for a real treat this weekend!

  29. lifeinblue

Dread was my first Metroid game – and I loved it, so I picked up Prime.

For the most part I’m enjoying it but I loathe the map with a passion. I wish you could invert y for the map and not for Samus – and I wish you could pin areas of interest so you can refer to them later.

Otherwise nothing beats the feeling of getting a new upgrade and randomly stumbling on a path to success.

  30. ChaosNomad

I’m an old Metroid Fan, but it’s my first time playing Prime. I’ve been loving the game. That being said, while I think it’s a testament to the amazing design that it’s not only playable, but a really fun game. Of course, there’s certain things that could be updated for modern design, but overall an amazing game.

Probably give it an 8.5 out of 10 if rating it as a new game in the modern era. 10 out of 10 for the context of the era it was made.

  31. as someone who never liked FPS, this game does look interesting. Can someone tell me if it’s a good game for a 9 years old?
