i would be shocked if this wasnāt just poor communication by niantic again, considering their history with the info in these blog posts
also notice there is no shiny icon on the pokĆ©mon š¤·
Seems like they mixed up Grunts with Leaders as there is no shiny icon on the pokemon
if they donāt have the sparkle in the circle they arenāt shiny.
Mystic7 said in one of his videos a few days ago that grunts will be able to give you shiny encounters for the first time. So im going with what he says
I have one from a grunt when there was a small glitch window with shadow venonat. Other than that, yea it would be the first time.

Not the first time. I think back in 2021 it was also available to be shiny.

I have three shiny shadows? Seedot from Cliff and Scyther and Beldum from Sierra. Are grunts never allowed to give shiny shadows? Only the leaders? I never knew that.
First, I just want to mention that I have lost faith in Niantic as a company and this is likely just a typo where they meant to say Rocket Leaders.
However, I also feel as though if this was a typo they would want to correct it as soon as possible to avoid the backlash from the community when the event starts and they realize it was a mistake. Theyāve had days to put out a statement correcting the blog post (or just to correct the blog post itself), but they havenāt said or done anything yet.
If this is a typo then not only did they mess up by saying it, but to allow the misinformation to spread and cause hype is another issue entirely.. there is an absolute 0% chance they donāt know about this by now.
I got a shiny shadow Scyther in Oct 22 – but I haven’t seen a single shiny since.
I wonder if they mean pokemon that have previously been shiny can be shiny. Cuz that’s a whole lot of new shiny shadows and a big miscommunication.

Would be nice if they made any previously released shadow shiny available from grunts instead of just making them impossible to get.
This isnāt the first time theyāve released shinies through team rocket, I got a shiny Scyther and a shiny caterpie from them in the past

I did see this but I thought it was a mistake. They didn’t add the little shiny symbol next to any of the Pokemon listed so either way there is probably a mistake somewhere.
Trainer Tips on YouTube did a video on it and he said Niantic confirmed this was the case starting Saturday at 10 am local time.
Yeah! I got a shadow shiny magneton or however you spell it from a grunt last month
Just watched the video, trainer tips confirmed with niantic and it is not a typo, grunts will give out shadow shinies, and it WILL BE PERMANENT
