I’m so confused. I thought the list of future games coming to the gameboy for switch online was oracle of ages/seasons, Pokémon trading card game and tilt n tumble. Where did Kirby 2 and this burger game come from? Lmao

ok, it’s a relief that at least the gameboy games aren’t gonna be a “one at a time” thing. Interesting though that neither of these games were included in the list they showed of games that were “coming soon”.

Anyway, Dream Land 2’s pretty decent, though a pain in the ass to 100%. Also it was one of the games that had a specific color palette and some extra sounds built in to account for the Super Gameboy, so it’s kind of a bummer that (at least last I checked) the NSO emulator doesn’t seem to have support for that kind of thing (it has the Gameboy Color palette, but that’s a little different).

  3. Any more N64 games we should expect? Would love Pokémon Stadium or Smash 64.

  4. Neat, Dream Land 2 means that the whole Dark Matter trilogy is playable on Switch!

(Every new NES drop makes the absence of Mysterious Murasame Castle, Mach Rider, and Urban Champion that much stranger)

What’s genuinely surprising for me is that Dreamland 2 and Burgertime Deluxe weren’t games confirmed coming to Switch in the announcement trailer. Seems like they are shaking it up and we can expect a decent number of them.

Just weird to me they didn’t lead with more games confirmed outright, but I’m glad the GB/A additions are doing their job and spicing up drops. More genesis games and an N64 game this month and we are golden. Also hope Tilt and Tumble shows Nintendo are willing to put in some more work on specialty games. Would kill for Mario Paint on NSO.

That “Great” at the end of the SNES Side Pocket part really says it all lol. Jokes aside it’s cool to have a billiards game around.

Hope the Oracle games come sooner than later. I purposely took them off my 3DS eshop list since they were announced for the service.

What’s the chances of us getting any of the old gba pokemon games. I’m thinking 2%

  8. Shujinco2

    Oh fuck it’s Burgertime Deluxe.

No joke, I have an unreasonable amount of hours on that game.

A bit surprising that KDL2 (and Burgertime Deluxe) weren’t part of the “upcoming games” in the GB(A) presentation but KDL2 was fun anyway so I’m not disappointed.

However I wonder if the GB(C) games are going to suffer the same drip feed as the (S)NES games, or if they’ll be updated a little more often considering that the GB(C) games don’t have a big library yet compared to the other two systems.

Also hoping they put the original Wario Land on here eventually.

I only played one of these games, so obviously I’m not super excited. People here seem to like what they saw, but I kinda wish they threw us a bone and gave us at least OG Pokémon with 3DS store going away so soon.

E: didn’t know people disliked OG Pokémon :/

  11. King_Dead

Xevious is interesting. Not gonna say this list excites me but more games isnt a bad thing

  12. Side Pocket! The game that set my expectations for music in pool games, that is a cool get.

Weirdly, the Japanese version of this video and the English version of this video announce the same games, but they do it in backwards-order of one another.

  14. Doctor_Batman_115

I’m still holding out hope for “Super Buster Bros” to come to SNES online

  15. Elranzer

No Sega Genesis updates? That’s a premium “Expansion” emulator and the games are extremely easy to emulate. That library could easily grow.

I wonder if the only hold-up is Sega wanting to sell the Sega Genesis Mini 2.

Not to be rude but who the fuck was sitting around waiting for side pocket to come to switch online?

  17. tatsumakisempukyaku

OK totally unrelated, but the car on cover of side pocket is a Mistubishi FTO, a Japanese import that I used to own back in the day. Never expected it to be a cover car haha.

Man, there’s *something* about the Game Boy that just tickles that nostalgia nerve 🙂

BTW, I remember playing Kirby 2, but using Coo so many times that it was the only theme I’ve heard through the entire game XD

  19. -GI_BRO-

Any chance for the oracle games to ever appear on the expansion pack?

  20. Ok_Introduction6574

Since they are updating the NEs and SNES again, I’m really hoping they add the old Fire Emblem games so we have official versions to play them in English.

  21. Do you think we’ll ever see SMRPG on the switch?

  22. ImmaculateWeiss

Burgertime is ridiculously good, deserves to be here for sure

  23. PrinceOfBrains

Oh man, I spent a TON of time with Kirby’s Dream Land 2 back in the day, and it’s probably my favorite in the series aside from Adventure, so I’m mega stoked to try it out again

  24. I’m super glad we’re seeing some games that weren’t advertised in the direct. Should mean we’re in for some more surprises.

  25. Phew, the dreamland 2 ost is absolutely dazzling, even for a Kirby game! Can’t miss it.

  26. imaloony8

I’m so surprised that we haven’t gotten Donkey Kong ‘94 yet. Legitimately one of the best games on the original Gameboy.
