Pokemon Go

This gets real discouraging over time. Cheaters work real hard to not spend a single real coin In the game and eventually drive out and away those that do spend real coin from time to time. Trully hope they implemente alternatives to earn ingame currency

  1. I’ve never spent a penny on the game, been here since day one. I’m not sure what cheating you are implying here.

  2. HateRedditMost

I am curious why do you think it’s cheating? I saw your other comment about not seeing anyone in the location. what kind of location is it? Is it possible that they are inside a nearby building? Like I have a gym close to my apartment which I can access without leaving. If you stand in the street, you wouldn’t see me at all. I am not sure the current radius of interaction but it is sufficiently high that unless you are in a completely isolated place with clear line of sight, it is very possible for people to interact with gyms without you noticing eachother 🤷🏻‍♂️

They have but decided they care about our data more than improve the gameplay.

  4. GriffonSpade

Alternate sources of coins than gyms would be *very much* appreciated. They can still be limited by the cap, just *something else*.

  5. Star_Harvester

As frustrating as this can be, remember that the real bad guys here are Niantic. Coins shouldn’t be hard to come by. The game shouldn’t be so heavily monetized.

  6. avidbather

It’s not so much cheating as it is people hogging gyms. In my area i cannot get into a gym for more than 30 minutes at times because I’m kicked out by the people there. People who have already been in that gym at least ten hours a day, every day except weekends.

  7. FireDrgn

My home city is quiet. I can stay in gyms for days/weeks. I earn more near my work offices. It is annoying when you’re knocked out right away but unless you’re in a open space, you won’t know for sure if someone can access/engage with the gym in a car/building/tent.

A good alternative to obtaining coins could be for every PvP match won you would receive 10 Coins (Max of 5 wins could contribute to the totals cap of coins you could obtain in a day).

I have a gym accesible from my home.
    Someone around has 6 account.
Whenever they feel like it they just kick out anyone with the 6 accounts and get inside the gym at the same time.
The actions are so well coordinated that i think the guy (or girl) must be using emulators and scripts because all the 6 accounts are always fighting at the exact same time, they get in the gym at the exact same time and all.

When i attack them they automatically get healed. Like in an instant. No matter if it’s at 2am or 6pm… Like they never sleep.

I filed a complaint to Niantic and : nothing.

I live in a rural area and I have the opposite problem. My pokemon stay in gyms for fucking ever to the point I wish someone would go kick them out.

That would be ideal and people like that is why I don’t focus too much on gyms. I’m in a wheelchair and can’t walk or drive myself so I can’t even get to the nearest gym and the rest are all downtown. I have a pokestop where I live finally and would like to see if I can get one but I don’t have the motivation to try because of behavior like this so it doesn’t seem worth it, and from what I’ve seen here Niantic don’t care about stopping people from doing this. I spend here and there when I HAVE to for a task and there’s no other way but I won’t otherwise unless they tweak the game a little, and unfortunately all the changes they’re focused on are just making it harder for me to enjoy the game enough to spend more

  12. I think there is a better chance of you hitting the lottery two times in a row, than Niantic changing this, cheaters have been doing this for years, it cant be that hard to set a secret maximum that detect the account, and set then into a “hold” for cheat checking, i mean if you go more than 62 miles a day that should be a red flag, alteast notify them to check it further for steps, length, etc. Im sure its all come down to manpower and dont want to pay and make a team of 30 people doing this.

Just because someone doesn’t spend real money on this game doesn’t make them a cheater. Just because you get kicked off a gym doesn’t mean people are out to get you, it’s part of the game. The only reason to use gyms is to get coins, and since you obviously spend tons of money in game, you shouldn’t need them.

  14. vastopenguin

something I wish they would introduce is a way to retrieve your pokemon from a gym without it being knocked out, for say a small fee of like 10 to 20 coins and forfeiting that gyms coin collections, or forfeiting half of that gyms coin collection. i see so many posts of people having mons in gyms for months with no way to retrieve them

  15. 5bluewhales

I have the opposite problem, my mons sit in remote gyms for months on end. They should implement a minimum and maximum time for gym ownership, solve both problems that way.

  16. hobbit_life

Coins should be a prize at level 20 pvp on battle 4 or 5 of each round. Or maybe it rotates out randomly where you get the round of five battles where each win gives you coins. I don’t want it to be super easy to get coins since they’ll just raise the prices if everything, I just want it to be marginally easier to earn coins for free.

  17. DOLLARBILL785

Bad alternative pokécoin idea: item selling

When you go to discard a ton of items, you can get pokécoins. It obviously wont give you as much as you can buy the items for, but its just some kind of alternative to leaving pokémon in gyms.

  18. Mac_and_Cheeeze

I know it will never happen, but the cap really should increase. It’s been 50 since launch, but now there is so much more to be spending coins on.

  19. InsaneChef

its such a boring way to earn coins. i place like 10 gyms in busy and quiet areas, and still miss most days. not walking 2 hrs a day for 50p. i hate the stupid animations and how you have to whittle down the pokemon and how close you have to be. awful awful system just to remote raid twice a week.

  20. I personally don’t see the problem. At the end of the day, it’s 50 cents.

If that 50 cents is so important to you, don’t just take over one gym xD there’s quite a few people in my neighbourhood who will knock out every single local gym. That way when someone goes and knocks them out they have 7 more.

  21. Kurritocu

Here, let me play you the worlds saddest song on the worlds smallest violin 🥺

  22. Ben_Stro

What makes you think it’s cheating? Depending on the gym location you might have plausible reason, but plenty of people just drive around and take gyms.

People can play the game, believe it or not

  23. rubenchago

    Hater warning*

But I don’t care how long anyone has been in a gym. Ima knock them out. I need to feed my Mons. That’s all.

  24. Life-Ad-1716

It would be nice to be able to earn poke coins each day a Pokémon is in a gym like it was it the past.

  25. Alert_Requirement_49

This is why I like the Jurassic world alive. Not only are there a ridiculous more amount of pokestops in that game, but you can get in-game currency from the pokéstops. Of course it’s limited to a certain amount per day but still.
