Battle! Friends From Kalos | Battle Challenge! Round 2 | F2P Teams | Pokemon Masters EX

Yeah the team options for this one isn’t looking too good.

This battle challenge locks you into using Kalos units only, so if you’re me and most of the Kalos limited units have evaded you, you’re not going to have a good time.

A F2P clear IS possible, but is VERY RNG heavy. Even with EX Sycamore (who is available for free in Legendary Adventures and the villain event is running right now so seriously get his free EX this is not a request THIS IS AN ORDER) this battle challenge is still difficult.

00:00 – F2P clear

The only available Kalos rock unit (besides SS Diantha) right now is Grant. Now before you think you found your budget solution to SS Diantha, Grant is built around using weather field effects to boost his damage, and besides Neo Champion Calem, no other Kalos unit, let alone a grass one, can set the weather so he’s out. Grant’s saving grace is that he has Aggravation 1 so if you get any flinches from Rock Slide, it can buy you time and allow you to damage the opponents. I got extremely lucky that he flinched everyone so I was able to do a pre sync clear with this team.

And unfortunately, the Kalos grass pool isn’t looking any better. You’re only units here are Lodge Sycamore…and Ramos. Lodge Sycamore is thankfully free, since all you need is to have Sycamore and Xerneas and friend him on Trainer Lodge. If you don’t already have him, get him. He is required for a budget clear. Don’t even try with Ramos. Even if you want to go for a sleep grass nuke, the enemy gets temporary status condition immunity after recovering and trying to work around that is a headache.

Even if you have the worst trainer lodge RNG in the world, this villain event is around for over a month so you have time. GO GET LODGE SYCAMORE.

I can’t imagine trying to do this challenge if the game didn’t allow same name units to run in the same team. It would’ve made this challenge go from difficult to straight up impossible.

04:27 – Cursed F2P Clear

WARNING: THIS CLEAR IS VERY RNG HEAVY.

If you don’t have EX Sycamore but you happen to have Evelyn, you can use this (technically) F2P clear. But seriously, if you don’t have EX Sycamore and you are looking for another budget clear, just wait until you get him. It’s not worth the pain just to get the rewards earlier than if you just waited.

And if you want me to make a case for Furisode Kali for another cursed clear, the answer is no. Even though she is a vampire support, she lacks the ability to grant healing for the entire team. Even with the best RNG in the world, it’s not happening. Also she has worse defenses than Evelyn so that’s a hard no from me fam.
