Was just coming here to post that it’s time for the whales to boycott

These guys know how to customer service.

This change makes raids virtually worthless for me.
xAnm74
It’s for our own good! To make the game more enjoyable. Especially for those rural players who don’t even have gyms nearby
Foshizzlemynizzle90
525?! Wtf?? They must be joking 🥹

This is it, this is what kills the game for me. Remote raiding got me back into the game and spending money every couple of weeks as I could finally get involved with the raid scene, but with this I will happily quit the game.
balphonse
I just started playing this in June. Remote raiding has become my favorite part of Pokemon Go. How does this help rebalance the game? Who exactly does this benefit? I’m sure I’m missing something, anyone care to fill me in?
Matias9991
What?? They were already very expensive, now it’s not worth it. Fuck this.
Vinral
Glad I’ve been slowly moving my mons to pokemon Home. I’m just about done with this game.
Mrnappa420
Yupp thats it for me. Why would I spend twice as much to raid a legendary pokemon when catch rates are so bad? Not spending a dime on passes, and with how this season has gone so far my motivation to play is almost gone too.
Way to kill your playerbase niantic

Once they removed the free raid passes I stopped raiding as much since I’m f2p. Now it seems like I shall decline even more.

I do like some of the changes – like in-person raids offering more XL candies. that’s a solid idea honestly.
the price increase – insane.
the cap of 5 remote raids per day – also insane.
I read somewhere that they say that this is for the survival of the game in the long term.
that tells me that they’re running out of ways to keep the game fresh (as if we’ve been flooded with breathtaking content lately).
that’s the only time you slow down your players for fear of running out of things to do.
here’s the only scenario where I would support these restrictions…
give us a way to communicate and organize local raids that’s part of the app.
no fucking way am I driving around to raids only for nobody else to show up. that’s a waste of time, energy, and gas and is just going to piss me off to the point of giving up raiding anyway.
but if I knew there was a group going around to a bunch of raids, hell yes I’d show up in-person to join them.
we do that now at times through discord, facebook or whatever, but we shouldn’t have to rely on outside sources (which Niantic hates) to accomplish that.
The app needs a way for us to organize this stuff – that would absolutely fit their claims that they want us all to play together, in-person.
but let’s be honest… if they were going to do it, they would have already.
in fact, they take steps to discourage using those outside resources at all despite offering no alternative.

Niantic ain’t digging their own grave they bought the whole cementary.
CaptPolybius
I already lessened how much I spend on remote passes after they increased the price. I will spend my money on other games now. It’s like a blessing in disguise.
I still don’t understand why Niantic hates making money and having fans like them. I’m considering writing to the Pokemon Company to ask why they’re willing to work with a company that makes them look so bad. But they’re probably just as bad tbh.
KushiIungs
Again showing Niantic is just using the pokemon brand to bleed it dry for that sweet $. Soulless company with no real love for the franchise.
theleeman14
the most insulting part is that after increasing the price for decreased functionality, they had the nerve to explain to all us idiots that this is “for our benefit” ffs
manticore16
195? Jesus, the rumors of 150 was bad enough.
HighlanderSteve
Ha. Go fuck yourselves, Niantic.
silkie_blondo
Well PoGo it has been fun but looks like you’re getting deleted now.
thatonebullsfan
Can’t wait to have to put insane amounts of effort to beat 5* raids in-person just for half of them to flee

Effective_Repair_468
Imagine spending 195 coins and then the Pokémon runs away. Oof. Who would want to continue playing that? That’s one way to shut down your own game Niantic.
C-tali
Wow. £1.50 for one remote raid? Yeah fuck that. Not going to happen
counterlock
Well, I’m bummed about it, but looks like I won’t be raiding anymore… Pokegenie & remote raiding has been the last bit of fun I really had left in the game, besides the occasionally wild shiny catch.
I just can’t justify that pricing when it was already a little bit overpriced to begin with. More than 1$ per raid is ridiculous.
Cactusfan86
It’s cute how they talk ‘balancing concerns’ as though doubling the price is anything but raw greed.
I use remote raiding to support real life friends when we can’t meet up due to timing or whatever. This isn’t going to make me raid in person more it will just make me raid less overall. I guess I’ll scale back spending a lot and exclusively worry about shiny hunting as my top priority since raiding is going to be heavily damaged
Texan_Lemon
It would make more sense if they added more ways to earn coins, or at least increase the daily limit of 50.
manyfishhandleit
I just returned after 5 year break and I have yet to find anyone in a raid lobby sans one guy in a Starbucks for a 1* mareep. 😭 I don’t think I’m ever going to get into a raid now.
RealBug56
Daily limits aside, 195 coins for a single pass is insane. And it’s not even a guaranteed catch, so you might spend all that money on nothing.
swannygirl94
This is the end of the game. Thank you to all the **remote** friends I’ve made on Discord and enjoyed playing them game with. I have no community in my rural area to play with and you guys were a blast.
CygnusxRush
90% of my raiding is done remotely. I don’t have time in my day to drive to each location and raid. Not to mention the fact I’d have to coordinate with others to meet up. What a bummer.
cricketscz99
Niantic has been implementing questionable updates over the past few months but this is hands down the worst. This decision is gonna thoroughly reduce their player base. And before those fanboys come out of the woodwork defending this decision saying “that’s the way its supposed to be played”, raiding in person and raiding via remote raids do not need to be mutually exclusive. Stop defending horrible decisions by Niantic.
