And that’s the straw that broke the camels back, with this news I am officially quitting Pokémon go and won’t be returning unless this is reverted, thanks for 5 years of fun and 2 years of stress but this is the end of my go journey, goodbye Pokémon GO

What the fuck
I came here looking to see if people were planning the mass exodus asap, or on April 6th. My local discord is wondering when to drop.
I expected a price change but god i didnt expect that much lol
At least we can drop some with breakthrough but their decision is bullshit, they just want more money.
But well I won’t buy a single remote raid pass anymore, Niantic don’t deserve a single coin with their shitty changes
110 or even 120 pokecoins would have been somehow understandable but 195 pokecoins/remote pass wtf
I’m afraid that is spot on. This evening 4 other friends announced they are quitting because of this. Niantic is giving the perfect example on how to put yourself out of business…
People trying to spin this in a positive note are delusional; keep preaching it’ll increase in-person interaction. The absolute majority of in-person interactions in this game are pre-determined (meaning meet ups from local discords, etc.). This is only a negative change and I can’t envision how Niantic believes this will make them money (no more remote passes for me).
WTF Ninanic
Personally I already thought the passes were priced at a premium, but I’m a shiny hunter and this is entertainment spending for me so fine. But almost doubling the price welp… my wallet thanks you 😅
The incense nerf, the JOKE overpriced bundle boxes of crap and now this remote raid fiasco! I’m quitting not because I was abusing remote raiding but it is clear that Niantic keeps dragging this game down and down and it’s time to jump ship. They are literally writing on the wall that the player is NOT a priority but THEIR misplaced sense of “direction” overrides game enjoyment. F u Niantic I’m out!
They really are hardheaded about their perception of the community lol. It’s near impossible to coordinate local raids like you can with social apps.
Just cancelled my raid party app. $15/mo savings right there.
Played since launch, and I have something like 3 years uninterrupted daily catches. I’m going to start a mass exodus to Pokémon Home and not look back. I rarely see such a flagrant disregard or lack of understanding of their user base from a company like this. Like you said, straw that broke the camels back. This is just too much, and too blatant. It’s just plain insulting.
Premium 3 pass battle back should be 50 coins and I won’t change my mind. ONE raid pass per day given out is shit and can’t bring any community together

Yikes. I’ve played PoGo on and off since launch, but have only really gotten into the “end game” of raiding recently because of how inaccessible in person raids are for me.
I have two gyms near me, about a mile away each, in opposite directions. One is a dog park and one is a drive through convenience store. They’re off of country roads with no speed limits posted and no shoulder. No one is ever at either playing PoGo, so I do most of my raiding remotely with a group of work friends.
This is definitely going to cause me to raid way less – I already felt a little silly spending $1 each time we do a raid, since it doesn’t even always lead to a desirable catch. At $2, I’m going to have to be even more selective, and will likely just end up not playing altogether.
Niantic’s main business is using games to mechanical turk their mapping solutions product, which is more lucrative than pogo purchases, so if you look at it from that angle, then they have every incentive to make you manually move from space to space and that’s probably why they’re taking these steps.
Same. I deleted the app right after reading this announcement. Something BIG needs to change.
Baseball is starting up – Good time to take a break from the game.

What in the actual fuck pokemon.
LETS DO A 1 STAR REVIEW BOMB AND MASS UNINSTALL.
I only play with my daughter and while doing my delivery apps. I don’t walk to play. I have never spent money on the game in 7 years (with 5 years off) i just started doing remotes using pokegenie… but this change…screw you. Doubling the price while, probably secretly, halving the catch rates too.
We need to speak with UNINSTALLING THE GAME. BEcause they still sell our data , even if we don’t spend money.
C’mon guys, you used to play before 2019 without remote raids, and life was fun. What is wrong with all of you!!! /sarcasm
Jokes aside (making sure, I don’t agree with Niantics at all!!), they fail to understand that they can’t give something good and then just ruin it and expect people to accept it. Specially when that “something good” changed the status quo of the game for better or for worse, and tbh it was for worse. Pre covid my town had the pokestops, had the gyms, and had the small community to raid in events and participate in the CDs.
Covid came, and so did the remotes and the paywalled legendary XLs. It is sad but that surely killed the small community in my town. If I want to raid, either it is solo/duoable or I have to pop remotes. It is rly sad but the remotes and the XL exclusivity killed the game as it used to be and Niantic needs to accept it and change accordingly or it kills the game for good.
SUCK A FAT CHODE, niantic!!!

I’ll have to join you at this point
Even if it is reversed, I wouldn’t be coming back, cuz we’ll just do it again. They keep doing bad things and nothing good to counter it or to make us forget about the bad things.
Just uninstalled ✨️
April 6 boycott
We need to bombard all their socials until they revert. YouTube, twitter everything connected with Niantic. Only way I can see this resolving is if it becomes financially damaging for them in terms of bad press.
I deleted the app. Lvl 45
See, I’m just turning off location services and and will only turn it on for com days and turn it back off again until the next. The only reason I even play is to catch Shinies to move to Pokémon Home, thankfully with that sort of goal there’s no reason to spend a single cent or give them constant location data.
Same. They can’t even get their in-person raid events to work correctly. But this is the priority
I deleted too
I wont quit because this game Is helping me to go walk More but I wont spent money on it
Yea I deleted the app after I saw this
Yep, time to fully uninstall
Yea I’m not spending 2 fucking dollars on a pass. They can go eat a dick
More time for Violet! Or Arceus! Or, hell, just enjoying the trail for its own sake and not as a series of digital tasks. I support your direct action, and I’m going to be joining you for at least a week. I have always said the FOMO doesn’t pull at me; time to put my money where my mouth is.
Well, I guess the only reason I’ll be logging in from now on is to transfer shinys and legendaries I’ve accumulated to home. 😂
If they’d raise the cap on daily coins from 50 to 100 that could at least help a bit on the cost front. It doesn’t solve all the problems but might at least make players feel like they’re actually trying for balance in some ways, Idk.
If enough of a stink is made has GameFreak ever commented on how Niantic is managing a product of theirs?
Don’t forget to leave negative app reviews
You can’t walk back remote play and expect people to gather again. The game will be dead outside of all massive cities like LA etc. People will just do their 5 remote raids if at all and stop playing for the day. This company never has figured out how to scale with the player base just like in 2016 and they clearly don’t want to.
Same here. Plenty of fun games exist that don’t extort the player base. This isn’t worth it anymore.
Imagine how much much Niantic could make if they lowered the price of remote raids and then built in a Pokie Genie like system into their game.
Way to go Niantic, if your business plan was to quickly destroy the game and enter into financial ruin, I think this change was the absolute best move! First step, increase the cost of a raid pass which cost YOU nothing more than before due to inflation, like milk and eggs for us in the real world. Second, you restrict us to only 5 remote raids per day, which means MOST of us will not be able to participate as often in raids. For me, the probable result will be a 70% reduction in raid participation because, and this might surprise you, I have to WORK and take care of my family and home, so I can’t head out to be local to raids. Why do you want fewer people playing the game? Just so weird.
