Looks promising, hope they consider dubbing the voice lines in English and not just Japanese.

Yeah I can see that. A lot of the character designs will not look out of place in a Layton game.

Looks good.
But I’m still glad we are getting Professor Layton back. I like peaceful charm of those games and kind of european aesthetic.

thats really interesting, im glad that both get a chance to exist, makes me wonder how later prof layton development started

Soooo
Katrielle wasn’t the original successor? Can’t blame them terrible game

That’s what I thought when I first saw it, that this is what the Layton team graduated to.
Happy to get this and a new Layton

I would have been fine with that, because it looks really good. But the fact we’re getting both is so much better.

I was pleasantly surprised by the announcement of this game. I’m not normally a big RPG guy but the mechanics all look really cool here. Happy that this can coexist with a Layton revival so I can have the best of both worlds.

I’m glad they’re bringing Layton back properly as well. Decapolice looks cool, but I feel like it wouldn’t have gone over well had they announced “Oh, Layton is still done, but here’s a police RPG! They’re both mystery games; that’s basically the same thing”…

Needs better promotion because players would pass it as generic ‘anime’ title.

High school kids as police officers.

I thought Decapolice looked like a Persona spinoff.
I don’t know what to expect now

Is the title a portmanteau of ”decapitation police”? If so, I’m in!

More people gotta keep their eyes on this. Level-5 has a prestigious track record for their quirky RPGs, and now that they’re not chained down to Yokai Watch (no disrespect to Yokai Watch, I own the first game and am looking forward to playing it in the near future!), I feel like we’re about to see games that measure right up to the likes of Ni no Kuni, Dark Cloud, and Rogue Galaxy. I’m personally really excited.

I was surprised they showed up to the Direct with 2 detective-focused games. This explains some things.
Decapolice really caught my attention, I hope it plays better than Ni No Kuni did.

I’m happy that they decided to bring Layton back as well.
I’m excited for both games, but as a Layton fan I would have hated the “Layton is finished, but here is another game that will be is successor” lol
markaznar
Ok. I admit this game looks very interesting

I’ve said it once and I’ll likely say it again but every time I see this game’s title I think of Dekaranger and wonder why that series is getting a game in this day and age.
