I recalled there were robbers putting up lures at pokestops to attract people back in 2016.

Best to do this in groups people.

  2. Currently standing at 1.6 with a little over 4k reviews.

This is when you call the cops and not blame it on a worldwide app. They’ll go to jail and then you can play properly.

Murica never fails to be a dogshit country

This is some team rocket bullshit 😒

    Can’t have anything anymore

People were saying the same about lure modules when Pokemon Go first came out. It’s a risk with any AR game/app.

Use good judgment. Try to raid in groups. Look out for each other.

Always do raids with a few friends or family you know, this is always a risk regardless of if you use discord or campfire or reddit

Discord groups and Facebook groups rely on developing communities of trusted members. Until Niantic develops a system of in game communication where I can directly talk to people I know and trust, nothing beats what already exists from third parties.

You can only see so many gyms near you in pogo, Campfire is very beneficial to see when/where the raids you want will be that are further away. I hope all the grumpy people don’t ruin it for the people that like/use campfire with no problems. I’m in Seattle and I’ve had it since launch. Sure maybe some shady things have happened but I think some are making things up because they want it all to burn.

Seems if you can’t play (because you’re boycotting maybe) then no one else can play.

  10. I don’t think campfire is more susceptible to this than any other method. Their Facebook group is just people they’ve already found to be trustworthy.

Take appropriate precautions about meeting up with strangers in any context. e.g. Choose locations where you will be visible to others for your first encounter.

Campfire is an innocent idea plagued with a terrible reality that Niantic refuses to acknowledge.

That’s why I stay in my car, which has a dashboard camera in it.

This seemed like the immediately obvious outcome of apps like campfire.

That Niantic doesn’t seem to care is concerning.

You know, someone was spamming a flair all morning at a gym around me that had no raid and I wonder if this is what it was..

It’s used for organizing raids, but not those in Pokémon go…

You never considered this could happen? How is that possible? Any app that draws strangers together can be used for nefarious purposes. Those apps are perfect for rounding up unsuspecting folks and doing whatever you want to do to them.

I’m sorry but no robber is using a niche Pokémon go related app to rob people lmao

  18. No_Researcher519

In the last 5 hours Niantic caught on. The rating went up by .4

  19. dlh-bunny

If I can’t reach it from my car I don’t go

  20. DoubleCartoonist340

Only use to see what raids are out of my game map range.

  21. Devin1026

Gotta keep a max repel for robbers when playing pogo aka a pistol

  22. Campfire is actually dog shit. Cool seeing what’s out there but not like we can actually raid. For Christ sake can’t even solo a 5000 cp anymore.

  23. I only use campfire to see what’s on at gyms that are just out of sight in Go

  24. A_Picasso_On_Crack

Yikes see that’s why I just build up a community in my local town through fb. So much better.
