i haven’t actually seen it until now but it’s beautiful gold joycons are really something
carldavis_reddit
I love the pattern design on the back of the Switch itself. Paired up with white joy cons that would have a cool, understated look to it.
yoshigronk
Man, I regret upgrading to a regular Switch OLED in December.
ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp
The dock is gorgeous.
Complete_Bad6937
I’m so annoyed they aren’t selling the joy cons separately for ppl who don’t want to buy a whole new console
I only got my OLED 3 months ago
spideyv91
I know in a few years I’m gonna regret not buying this as I always do with special editions but I really can’t justify it already having a oled switch. Even with trade in
Datachire
I bought a Switch OLED in December knowing that TotK was coming out, and theorized they might release a special edition Switch. Turns out I was right. I pre-ordered one and sold my Switch OLED for less than I paid for it. Capitalism prevails. Money in, money out. It is too beautiful to say no.
Tubby520
Do you think these are going to sell out quickly?
itskeke
Ughhhhhhhhh I want this, don’t need it though. I’m tempted!
My OG is still kicking and I JUST bought a PS5. Honestly I should just wait to upgrade when the actual successor to the Switch comes out.
T_Peg
It’s fucking beautiful but I can’t afford that thing.
PileOfSheet88
Looks so good. But why oh why aren’t Nintendo bundling the game with it.
Bo_flex
More like Tears of my wallet. Am I right?
faustarp1000
Subarashiii!
Stargazeer
Love the dock but there’s just something about those Joycons that doesn’t sit with me.
I think it’s the hard edges on the front. Makes it look more like a decal sticker than a full official design
SupremeEuphoria
Not gonna lie, the only thing that looks good is the dock
wormyWorminson
Zelda is one of my favorite franchises, but the limited edition consoles are always so ugly. I think I’m just not a fan of gold.
TradlyGent
Not a good looking special edition design for a Zelda imo.
reddwarves
Put a Triforce on anything and it’ll sell.
Puzzled-Average-5668
Oh my god it is beautiful!
Rezae
Probably not a popular opinion but I just find this a bit ugly. I still have a 1st year Switch and am thinking of upgrading but if I do I like the clean look of the regular OLED.
Less-Society-4919
Getting this one since I only have 1st Gen switch
LordMcBucketz
For those who have an oled is it worth the upgrade? I have an Animal Crossing switch from 2020 but my little brother has been playing my switch for a while now and has completely ruined my screen and messed up the left joy con
mochi_titties
I wish the Switch was black with the dock design, I love that!
Weptimus
this is more than pretty
inarioffering
can’t wait for april 28th to get here. my first console in 5 years, am looking forward to seeing the improvements from the launch switch.
MattieWookie69
I have a day 1 switch…. So I bought this. Excited to get it in a few weeks!
KingofGrapes7
I’d have preferred a Triforce design on the handheld. Otherwise I really can’t decide if I like to the look or not.
Regardless I am taking a brief wait and see approach. If the May-June gaming news cycle passes without news of a new console I’ll spring for an OLED. My wallet will thank me for the stall.
CabbagesStrikeBack
Am I the only one that doesn’t like the joycon design? The green just doesn’t work for me. Dock and pro controller are really nice though. Back of the switch is average.
DomHyrule
I got it preordered, it’s the first time I’m getting a new switch since 2017
mdharken
Anybody else just want the joy-cons? I want those more than the console lol
-Dark_Link-
Looks cool but as somone who never plays handheld, MEH. Wake me up when the switch Pro comes out.
sparkle_lotion
Was waiting to get a Switch in case they did a Zelda. Pretty stoked to land one. Love the style.
chubbybunn89
Maybe this is a bad take, but I like the blue and indigo Zelda joycon designs more than the gold ones.
OceanGlider_
Can’t believe Nintendo is more or less selling a 6 year old console for retail.
It would be cool if this was a new switch pro or something but paying full price seems wild to me for just a new look.
BerryTea840
I hope they sell the joycons separately at some point. I would love a pair of ToTK joycons. I have the ones from SSHD that I keep on my switch now.
OldSkool1978
The 2 different joy cons looks like the fusion of technology and magic maybe? I can’t help but look for clues anywhere I can find them about this game, lol
Red_Panda_Mochi
I love the design of this system and want it, but since I have the ACNH Edition Switch it’s hard to justify the price (especially since I love the design and colors on the ACNH Switch and wouldn’t want to sell it to lower the cost, since I plan to keep it).
I keep coming back and ogling it though, so idk…
Edit: I broke down and decided to preorder it anyway ✌️
boya-monkae
I’m part of the group of people who are trading their old switch for an OLED, just to get this baby.
I’ve been on the fence getting an OLED because I am more of a portable player but I could never justify the cost. Now this limited edition is fully worth trading in for. I’m so excited!
TremeloBar
I don’t quite understand how the majority online says the dock is amazing, but the joy-con are ugly. Comes down to taste I guess?
My opinion:
I really dislike the triforce design used on the dock, as I did with that 3DS with the same triforce design. There is just too much happening. I like the solid minimalist triforce design.
And then they manage to put three other things on there as well. Way too much happening. It’s like using four different fonts on one design.
Real nitpick moment: I even dislike the spacing between the left illustration and the dock icon next to the light. Too little white space. Am I doomed?
And yet I must admit the whole thing slowly grows on me (but not enough hah), it’s just hype for the game and what all these things mean.
My “Zelda heart” just wants to love the ToTK OLED, but my “minimalist heart” loves the white one.
Anyway, happy you all love it though! We’re all going to enjoy ToTK, on whatever Switch it’ll be!
