I keep forgetting what day it is getting released

  2. > What will really carry Re-Boot Camp long-term is a robust online multiplayer offering! Sadly, we weren’t able to try that for this preview

This is what will make or break the game. AWBW has shown what could be done in theory. Can you play correspondence games? Is First Turn advantage taken into account? Can you ban COs? Can you use community-made maps?

Hate the new animation compared to the pixels of old. Whatever though, it’s still Advance Wars on Switch.

  4. I don’t follow Switch game releases that much, but how is this game not out yet ?

  5. boofjensen

Yeah….. I’ll wait til it’s on sale for $20. Nintendo really missed the hype window for this one. Good thing wars will never happen again if Nintendo is actually releasing it. We can all rejoice now! Please keep downvoting me. I hope you enjoy your $60 gameboy game.

  6. ~~It’s just a few screenshots but the art style looks a bit off. I’m getting fan-remake vibes.~~

Just watched some gameplay footage. It’s actually not bad in action. Might reconsider purchasing it.

I miss the sprites but it does look clean and cohesive. Overall everything gives a lighthearted, cartoon feel so they nailed it there.

Definitely gonna wait a bit for reviews but I really do miss Advance Wars being a thing and want to pick it up.

Ive been waiting so patiently for this game. Advance wars holds a special place in my heart as its the first GBA game I ever got <3

  9. SocksofGranduer

I really hope that the units are balanced similar to days of ruin

Im gonna buy it because I lost the Originals (I have my 3DS and dual strike) but I hate the new visuals.

I am so ready for this. Advance Wars has been one of my favourite handheld IPs since I played the OG Gameboy Advance title. I cannot wait to revisit the game and I love the new visual style. I hope the soundtrack goes as hard as it did then too.

Maybe not for Ukraine people’s Saturday morning.

The art style looks cheap. The actual animations looks fine, but the units look like Unity asset store fodder and the idle faces look like they were animated by AI.

  14. After I finish XC3 (beginning chapter 6) I’m purchasing it.

I want to support the IP albeit I believe Intelligent systems prefer banking on Fire Emblem.

FE has that whole social/relationship spectrum and believe it or not many fans like that in a turn based game

  15. Too bad I’m saving my money for a certain over priced game next month.

  16. OnlyTales

I don’t see this game getting a follow-up, and I strongly believe it will start having sale discounts before year’s end.

  17. Rogue_Leader_X

This title should be heavily discounted!

  18. Spazza42

Loving the tabletop aesthetic they gave to this remake, the toy soldier design far better suits Nintendo’s style than the standard warfare design.

Why were there sentences that were not questions that ended with question marks in that review?

  20. did we ever find out if the accidental release of this game was real or not?

As a fan of the original Advance Wars games, I’m thrilled to see them getting a facelift with Re-Boot Camp. The Saturday morning cartoon vibe is definitely present, but what really matters is the gameplay. If they stay true to the originals and make some smart quality of life improvements, this could be a fantastic remaster. Can’t wait to dive back into the world of Orange Star and fight off those dastardly Black Hole villains.

Advance Wars 2 is among my favourite games ever made, but this port will need something more than just a coat of paint to make me get it.

I might just be cynical though because my gut is telling me that Nintendo isn’t testing the waters on *Advance Wars* with this, they’re testing the waters on similar collections. Which isn’t a bad thing, Ninty has a lot of franchises that could use even just ports of their most recent stuff, new visuals or otherwise.

Not that this WON’T be a good gauge of interest in the AW franchise, but I just feel that’s not the primary goal here is all.

I sure hope no global wars start to delay its release again

  24. holyhotpies

Wasn’t this supposed to come out 2 years ago?

  25. mustardbud

war groove is a really good AW substitute

My main question is how responsive the controls are. I remember being able to play sooo quickly back on the GBA, like very little input latency, menus and option and movement had very short times that they were required to be shown for. I’m worried that this version will be bloated and will feel a bit laggy.

Baffled why they would release this weeks before TotK.
