Nintendo Switch

Different Nintendo Switch controller rumble motor sizes (8bitdo SN30 pro, Mobapad M8, Mobapad M9-HD, Nintendo Switch Pro controller). Showcased in a photo that I took after (slightly) dismantling my Switch controllers.

HelloOO!
Last week I posted [a text review](https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/comments/120h0yi/based_on_one_month_of_testing_i_wrote_a_rather/) about the Mobapad M9-HD controller. In the text review I mostly compared it to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. One of the conclusions of my test was that the M9-HD had a HD-rumble motor which is more capable than the Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers HD-rumble.
I contacted Mobapad to find out how it is possible. They gave an answer that was slightly informative, ultimately stating that the HD-rumble motor is the most costly part of the controller. So to us on these subreddits it’s information that’s good to know, but still doesn’t answer how did they achieve it.
Fear not! I have the answer. It didn’t give me any rest and I opened up all of my Switch controllers and neatly set them in a pileish formation where the HD-rumble/vibration motor can bee seen. Then I took took a photo. And what did I find? Turns out that the M9-HD motor is bigger, much bigger than the Pro Controllers HD-rumble motor.

You’re mistaken in what you’re looking at. The huge motor is the standard spinning rumble motor for PC. The little rectangle on top of that is the HD rumble. It looks to be about the same size as the Pro Controller one…
