The game sucks. Been doing daily incense since they launched and have yet to catch any of them. Lost count of the encounters and only one spawns every three weeks or so.

On a scale of 1-10, how much pain are you in?
The game expects you to have done the insane challenges to increase you catch rate for these things. I genuinely cannot imagine being in the room where they took the idea for one of the most annoying parts of a pokemone game (roaming) and decided to make it worse and limited to 15 minutes a day
I’ve only caught a 2479 articuno with a pinap/nice throw/great ball. This was in the first week. Had so many >1000 birds run away. Don’t understand why they made them so random
I stopped to use daily incense because of that.
I feel your pain. I’ve encountered several of each and managed to nab a crappy 1 star of Moltres after several tries but no luck since. I really wanted Zapdos but I’ve given up.
I believe my daily incense bird catch ratio is currently at 0|22
*I assume the point of these birds existing is just to annoy the player base … just had this thought: perhaps we are the game and Niantic is playing us???*
My catch rates are going down for these birds… wish I could see how many I’ve encountered. I use the incense almost every day and will go entire weeks sometimes without any… then some days I’ll see 2. I can’t believe you saw 3!
Edit: I should note, I have caught an Articuno. It was on the second throw. It didn’t flee on the first.

I understand that they’re suppose to be extremely rare, but yeah it would be nice if you had at least 2 tries at them before they flee. They have such weird hit boxes. Fine, let them still have a 99.9999% chance to not be caught or whatever, but fuck at least give people two tries. At least that way you can attempt to improve on your first try. At least that way you feel like maybe you had an actual chance.

How sad are you that I have a 100% catch rate on these birds and you just went 0/3?
I had one yesterday, didn’t catch.
Feel this hard. I hadn’t seen any of the birds for a 2-3 months (havent used the incense every day tho). Then one day about a week ago I had Moltres spawn once and Articuno spawn twice! I even had enough luck that the Articuno allowed me an extra throw both times. But still couldn’t catch them. I’m pretty good at Excellent throws but the stakes are so high with the birds that I’ve settled for Great throws each time. Either way, the odds are so ridiculous that I don’t really expect to catch them anytime soon lol.
I just take this as reassurance that they’re still out there

Holy Cow! All 3, on ONE Daily Adventure Incense?!? That’s crazy, yo! I’ve Encountered each of them, about 10-12 days apart, but haven’t caught a single one, even WITH the Golden Razz/Ultra Ball/Excellent Shot combo!
Enough is enough! Next time you encounter one, I suggest just running away to assert dominance. Show em who’s boss. 😤
