  1. Thatโ€™s odd! Would Nintendo dump Nvidia for a new AMD chip?

  2. Altruism7

How good is it for those of us not tech savvy to understand?

It could be a processor for new Steam Deck since it runs x86-64 instructions.

Nintendo uses an ARM processor made by Nvidia. Nothing confirmed until now but they probably will use a newer processor from Nvidia that runs ARM instructions for the new video game.

The image from the Exhilarating Speed item is an image they choose to represent a portable.

It also shows the Steam Deck and what looks like a PS Vita up top, the whole page has clearly been put together with stock images. Absolutely nothing to see here.

It’s just stock images thrown into Lightroom/Photoshop. Nothing to see here. >!We know from the Nvidia hack that Nvidia is working on a new SOC for Nintendo: T239.!<

No it doesn’t, it is showing handheld PC devices which are a similar form factor but usually cost several times more than the switch. Like $2,000+. It specifically refers to the rog ally in the text

The philosophy that Gunpei Yokoi formed says that the hardware for the console is taken already time-tested. I wouldn’t expect Z1 or any other new processor in future Nintendo consoles.

Wait what? Nintendo Dropped Nvidia and now buys from AMD?

Deleted due to trolls. Really I don’t get it. I’m just mentioning the new Asus handled is good for playing PC games.

Steam Deck has always been bulky and extremely limited. Never worth the $800 price tag. Never would recommend this.

Asus Ally is easily a far superior handheld product. Much better performance, much better screen, much better ergonomics, will be able to play anything on Windows from any provider, with productivity potential as a tablet. And at similar price range.

Switch is a great choice for handheld at a lower price point offering Nintendo exclusives. More than enough for use of this form factor. But if you really want to play PC games, upcoming Ally will actually be great for that.

  10. Meh. I doubt this means anything. They probably just used a stock image and didn’t realize.

the weird thing is how come nintendo is ok with one of their recent products being featured in a stock image? considering they’ll nuke a people off the internet for modding their 25+ year old games.

  12. sirfannypack

Z1 is a completely different architecture than the ARM based switch, which means programming isnโ€™t interoperable between the two.

  13. Not seeing it, ROG Ally only unless they fixed it.

  14. Phoeptar

I mean, Switch 2 with AMD could make current gen console ports easier perhaps? And then just run Switch 1 games with some kind of compatibility layer no?

  15. villacardo

Fellas i dont wanna buy another console lmao

  16. Didact67

Where? The current pictures are all of the ROG Ally.

  17. evildrtran

Does this affect backwards compatibility since switch is on Nvidia GPU?

  18. WolfCoyote40

Are you sure about this? The site emphasizes Steam Deck-like devices, and more importantly, ***italics**Windows-based handheld gaming***italics**.

Nintendo acts like Apple in that they get really pissed if a hardware or software partner leaks, even accidentally. Not even someone as big as AMD. And with it being this close to Nintendoโ€™s special presentation, this would be the worst time for leaks or anything unsubstantive.

I’m about to pick up my Zelda OLED on Friday after waiting for a Pro tip replace my V1, so it’s only fitting that a Pro would be announced soon.
