>If you came here looking for anything but glowing praise, you came to the wrong place. All the work that Takahashi has put into building his world pays off beautifully here with a fun, rewarding nostalgia trip, the most refined gameplay in the series, and the same beautiful look and sound we’re accustomed to. Frankly, my biggest criticism is that I wanted more. Future Redeemed may close the door on one chapter of the Xenoblade Chronicles saga, but hopefully it won’t be too long before Monolith Soft opens another and I get just that—more Xenoblade.
I’m almost at the end and i love it. I can see how it being really exploration based, could be annoying, but I enjoy it. Also the fan service was done really well and with lots of love.

I finished it yesterday with almost everything but the super bosses, and honestly, it made me feel xenoblade 3 base game IS the DLC, and future redeemed the main game we should have gotten.
All the characters have a reason to exist, and the world is connected somehow to both XC 1 and 2.
I have the feeling that while FR is the ending of XC1 and 2, XC3 is an spinoff about a character and thats it
I wish they would have gone in the direction of the DLC instead and expanded on what happened to certain characters that are still not present rather than doing this whole Mobius/Origin thing which makes less sense than the whole Trinity and split worlds

How long should I hold out for a physical release?

I’m almost done with this and it’s be great.
Really loving the way that they tie progression to exploration.

I haven’t picked it up yet due to backlog but I enjoyed Future Connected and Torna. I really appreciated all the new music and places to explore.
Can anyone let me know spoiler free if this DLC seems to hit similar levels of new areas/music, or does it seem to tread heavily on base game locations/music but with new narrative?

Oooo. I will have to check it out I enjoyed XB3, but XB2 is my most favorite still. I need to go back to XB3 as played it through when it first came out but haven’t touched any of the DLC.

I really hope it gets a physical release, I wanna play that but don’t really want to put 100h in xc3

I’m a ways through the DLC now and I absolutely LOVE it. I’m just so happy seeing all these characters, new and old, interacting and working together. I’m glad they’ve used the opportunity of the last expansion for the last game in the trilogy to actually tell something using the whole series. It’s kinda nice that 2 and 3 spend most of the runtime very independent for the sake of their own identity and to not intimidate newcomers but I really wanted a whole game that focused on everything and this delivers so far. I love this world and it’s people

I am seriously excited into jumping into this but I’m trying to finish Persona 5 before ToTK.

It didnt live up to my expectations but its a quality piece of content. Im glad others enjoy it.

Can I buy just future redeemed and not the rest of the dlc somehow?

That’s awesome. I’ve been wanting to play XB3 since it came out. Can someone tell me if I need to finish XB2 first? I probably got 10 hours in but got discouraged by some crazy difficult combat after finishing chapter 2 or 3. I would totally play it if it’s necessary to enjoy XB3 to its fullest, but I want to be careful about overloading my backlog anymore

How is the combat here compared to the base game? I’m playing through base game on hard difficulty now and was struggling until I dedicated 1 person to aggro and 3 of mine plus a hero as healers.

I’m playing through base game now and at level 50 I was struggling with combat on hard mode until I swapped from 2 of each role to 2 attackers, 1 aggro, and 3 healers as well as a hero healer.
Boss fights are still annoying but I’m not getting my checks spread as easily lol.

I’m still waiting to get a proper dockable switch to play through these games. I have a lot of good jrpgs in my switch lite but it’s not the same in just handheld.
Splitbolt
If I didn’t like Xenoblade 2 or 3, but adore 1, will this win me over? I’d love to see shulk in action again but idk
edit: I should say I like the gameplay of all 3, but don’t like the story of 2/3 much

I finished it yesterday and it was fine, I loved the changes to reward doing the side missions, exploration and overall completing the game. The characters were fine and I enjoyed the music and the callbacks to the past games and how it makes sense to a lot of the cryptic shit XC3 did.
It was a good DLC but compared to Torna it felt kinda short , but overall a less fat, more meat version of XC3.
Loved the ending but hated >!it’s actually a prequel to a lot of dumb shenanigans that happen on XC3, I didn’t like XC3 main villain/plot that much.!<

I wish I could play this but I will have to wait till I can either replay of all of 3 or Nintendo allows side loading of save data.

It’s so fucking good, I wish the base game motivated me as much as FR to do this much exploration, your character growth is tied directly to how much stuff you can find, as well as there is a use for all the random items you pick up. 10/10 the perfect bite size game before the enormous beast that TOTK will be

God damn this series is getting so much hype and good reviews. I need to find time to start from the beginning.

Man really looking forward to playing this sometime. I just didn’t want to start it before Zelda and not have enough time to finish it.

I still really want to play the first two.

Is the expansion pass a one time purchase that gets me all the DLC that’s been released so far for XB3?

I’m just sad that the ending kinda guarantees X will be forgotten lol

Loved the dlc so much more than the base game. The cast was so much more enjoyable to watch and they felt very diverse when it came to their backgrounds instead of just being from Agnus or Keves like in the base game.
Alpha was also a more interesting villain that I wanted to see more of which is why I wish the dlc was the base game as this was a world I wanted more to be expanded upon rather than the base game.
Favorite part was actually seeing Klaus’ world. It truly felt like we were coming full circle and putting a close to the story. But I do feel the ending wasn’t as satisfying because it was a prequel and so it ends off where 3’s base game begins and I didn’t find 3’s base game’s ending to be a good ending to the klaus saga (it was a great ending just on its own but not for the saga rather).

I see all this glowing praise for these games and keep thinking “I wish I didn’t absolutely hate the fake MMO combat.” Can’t play a lengthy JRPG if i think the combat sucks.

What order would you play the games in? Does it matter?

I see so many people in this thread asking if they can play FR without having played XC3 or any of the series. Can someone please help me explain why anyone would want to play the literal conclusion of an epic series without having played the other games for context?

How is the base game for people that aren’t big on rpgs? I have a spare online voucher and everyone seems to say this game is awesome

As of right now “Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed” sits at a [92 metacritic score](https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/xenoblade-chronicles-3-expansion-pass-wave-4—future-redeemed) and it’s currently the best rated original game (not remake or remaster) of 2023.
