Niantic continues to maintain the stance that “there are no issues with adventure sync” instead of just saying “we know there are issues and we’re looking in to it.”
So I created a poll to find out just what percentage of players are having problems and the data is insane. So far over 87% of respondents are having problems, with over 2/3 saying that it’s tracking none or almost no distance.
The real interesting thing about the problems is when you get to when exactly things started going bad with the answers fairly evenly split all over the board. For me personally the issue started at the same time as the early April update when they changed remote pass prices. For at least 2-3 weeks before that it was working perfectly and it was having some issues before that but nothing like now.
My point here is that Niantic keeps pretending this problem doesn’t exist when it obviously does.

Niantic is the top company when it comes to ignoring players and pretending like there are no problems. My adventure sync has been absolutely busted since the end of jan/early feb and I’m tired of seeing Niantic and other players on reddit pretend like it is working fine and pretending like it is only affecting a small minority of players.
I have the latest updates on every app. I have cleared my PokemonGo cache and data, my google fit data, google apps data, reinstalled both apps, and switched Google accounts and I have still encountered this problem since January.

Tracks a small portion of distance (under 1km a day, but with my job I used to get 5-7km a day from AS)

Adventure sync straight up hasn’t worked for me since 2020. I’ll walk around all day at my job and I check my eggs at the end of the day and it hasn’t even recorded 0.1 of a km
Adventure sync stopped working for me like 3 years ago.
I was having issues for a while but my new watch (Fitbit) seems to have fixed it. Not the cheapest fix though
Ive got it turned off on my old phone which has a second account and it hatches eggs (its stuffed in a drawer at home) while it barely works for the the phone i walk around with
i dont wanna be that guy cuz im mad at niantic too with their recent money grabbing changes, but my adventure sync is working perfectly.

Today I did 21k per my health app. Pokémon adventure sync caught 3.2k
The data should have specified whether it was iOS or Android. I’m on iOS and I feel like adventure sync works fine – the only *slight* issue is sometimes it takes at least a minute for my health data to sync to actually see how many steps I took while the game was closed. Otherwise, adventure sync works perfect fine
It is not working
My adventure Sync started not working right after the Halloween event last year. In December, it worked again for only a week. On the 6th of April, I stopped playing Pokémon Go after 5 years. Thanks to Niantic for destroying the fun of the game
I walked 5km yesterday and it counted NOTHING. I bet niantic won’t even fix this
Last week, through my health apps ( Google fit, S health and a couple of others) I walked a total of 67km give or take a couple of km. Adventure sync told me I had walked 15.5k… 🙂
mine never stopped working , to this day it does still on 2 different phones
I think this is heavily phone-dependent. My iPhone tracks steps perfectly, and depending on what you input as your height and weight this translates to similar kilometers in the app.. my cousins android however is a very very different story, but his phone is also 7 years old so… take it for what it’s worth
It’s strange, there absolutely is an issue with it but idk why it seems to affect some and not others. My dad’s adventure sync is totally broken, and won’t track any of his walking at all, whereas mine seems to be working more or less normally
Added my response – adventure sync did not work for the entire egg hatching event. I reached out to support they kept giving me suggested fixes and none of them worked
Adventure sync has been working great for me, my 5 miles get tracked as 8-9 km every time
i had 2 eggs at 4/5k. walked 14 miles yesterday (was on vacation seeing the sights), and ended the day at 4.2/5k lol. adventure sync sucks

I don’t know what I’m doing right for it to work on my end. It does seem to track distance on my relatively old iPhone X.
Mine has always give me problems as far back as 2018. It would not track any of my 6 miles to work, but would randomly give me 5-40 km a DAY while working in my grocery store. Lately, as in the last month, that hasn’t happened at all and the only time I get any distance is while actively playing and walking the local streets
Legit went biking yesterday around campus x3 with my phone on my body. Looked at the app and it said 0.1 km. What a joke.
My buddy gets more distance than me
