If you preordered online dont assume you’ll be able to walk into the store for the preorder bonus. I frequent the Gamestop subreddit and for weeks now many would say that they would refuse to give them out to online orders because they usually don’t get enough to cover all the preorders to begin with and that they believe that the regulars that frequent their store and those who actually get off their butt to come into the store to order the game should have priority.
It’s more or less a middle finger to corporate who tend to spring this kind of stuff on the stores with little notice or resources to accomplish said goal. But some customers will get caught up in it.
Honestly I don’t know why anyone would preorder from Gamestop anymore, their whole preorder system has been a shitshow for over a year. Often not getting the games in on time or sometimes at all. Just go anywhere else

I’ve given up hope on getting one for myself. I preordered online and my one local shop isn’t giving any except to the people who preordered at the shop and the other one did a midnight launch I didn’t have the energy to try and deal with. Congrats though.

I screwed my preorder – I ordered it by my job, before we knew of a midnight launch. So, yesterday (I know, last minute) I decided to place an order close to home and pay it off so I could do midnight. Come midnight pickup, the clerk said because it wasn’t a preorder, I didn’t get the plaque.

They gave away the last one to the person in front of me… that hurt a little bit. The employee just yelled out to the crowd “Blame nintendo”. Currently working on a display board. It would of looked quite nice.
