In the UK, and after just two days, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is already the eighth biggest Zelda game of all time. It’s already outsold Skyward Sword, The Wind Waker and A Link Between Worlds. This is based on boxed sales alone. (GfK figures)

And it is excellent. Love being back in this Hyrule
If they count digital then it’s probably way more.
These first two days have been bliss. I feel I am back in BOTW all over again but in the best way possible. Like it’s familiar, but I still don’t know what the hell I’m doing with my zonai devices. Just kind of got to the part with the first fan. Attached it to a dragon flame head and it spun around and lit a bunch of grass on fire and then put itself out in a lake. Then, chasing that contraption led me to another fan and I was like YES and then got fucking one shotted out of nowhere by a new flying enemy. This game!!
Why are we still caring about numbers that don’t include digital sales? For all we know the total sales of the game could be double this
Well deserved. And it’s only going to climb up from here.

I’m currently sick as a dog, and usually that means I’ve no energy for much- even gaming- but I just can’t. put. this. game. down. Even when I do, it’s only a matter of time before all I can think about is what sort of vehicle or contraption I could try making, what location I want to visit next, etc etc. Been a lifelong fan of the Zelda series and this game really does feel like a culmination of the franchise’s success.
Do we think it outsells BotW?
Larger install base at launch means it will have a stronger opening, but I wonder if it will be enough to offset the longer shelf life of BotW. I also think there will be a minor uptick in BotW sales for people that want to play both.
I think BotW will still outsell it, but I think it will end up in the like 20-25 million range, which will put it very comfortably as the 2nd best selling Zelda game.
Well better pack it in boys. Time to build a grave for tradiontal Zelda style games. *goes back to playing Majora’s Mask* At least I have you and randomizer…
I just like the cars
Where i live there was a midnight launch event. It was 4:30 am and they were still selling the last copies.

Went the next day at opening to get a copy in a nearby store, already had 20 people in queue and only 12 copies available.

I haven’t seen this level of hype, not even for botw
It will carch up to botw
I haven’t bought a new Nintendo game system or game in like over a decade.. and this release has me wondering if I should jump on board because it looks so fun and amazing.
There’s something uniquely fun about going back to the same Hyrule and wanting to explore familiar locations to see what’s changed and what secrets they hold. Plus with the new areas it’s like a new game as well!
I would love for the next game to keep this style but put us in a non-hyrule setting. Get a little weird with it.
Are the enemies a bit more diverse than BOTW? That was my main gripe, I felt like I kept fighting the exact same units for the most part.
Has it sold out mario kart 8?
I still haven’t finished Breath of the Wild really, I beat Ganon but I never did the DLC I paid for. Maybe I’ll go do that as soon as I’m done with Hollow Knight, play BotW while everyone else is playing TotK.
Love how it’s clearly Breath of the Wild but everything about it has changed, from the returning characters, to scenery, to mechanics, to two new world maps in the depths and sky. A true sequel in every sense of the word…And yet Koroks are still wanting you to save them.
Ghostface Killah is for the children
Why is it so big that makes for difficult transportation
Zelda is one of the last franchises that feels like the devs will only realese a game they are proud of. No cash grabs, no rushed time frames. Youll get the game when we want you to have it.
It would have sold even more if stores had them in stock and Amazon didn’t take forever to ship them
I don’t think I’ve been this addicted to an open world fantasy game since Oblivion. That came out 17 years ago.
So I spent two hours after unlocking the rewind ability fiddling around and found out if you grab a tree trunk and spin it in the control mode then rewind time you can basically create a spinning log of death… fucking love the game.
Then attach the flame shooters and it’s a spinning-fire spitting-log of death
I also loveeee the gliders!
I’m loving the new abilities. How the heck do I do this? How am I supposed to get over there?!
…
LIGHTBULB MOMENT, frankenstein something, problem solved haha
This game is astounding! It feels completely new and I think even better than BOTW. Full of discovery and really game changing mechanics. All the things you can fuse it’s quite staggering. The zonai devices. The sky islands. The depths. Caves to explore. The enemies and their variety. The NPCs and the world feel completely connected. And the music and ambience of wind, rain and snow. It all makes sense. I think this is quite an achievement. It feels like Ocarina of Time in that sense.
I cannot get over how great this game feels to play.
Remaster WindWaker and then compare. That game is an underappreciated masterpiece.
Okay but [who the hell is this](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/233034867263143937/1107529930817933404/Screenshot_20230515-004810.png)
