(I sped up the footage to make it easier to upload. Use the playback speed option if you want it to be slower/faster.)

Can’t believe the one rotation they decide to rerun is the one that I don’t have an F2P video for.

While this rotation is definitely easier than the previous two, I still find teambuilding to be quite frustrating, but for a different reason – these three stages have pretty wide overlaps in terms of how to deal with them.

You’ll notice that two-thirds of the clears here use some form of stagger, and that’s very deliberate since all three of them are vulnerable to flinch and sleep (though Cobalion does become immune to sleep after a few procs). Freeze would also be part of the list if we had more reliable inducers.

You’ll also notice that all three of these stages are quite annoying in terms of debuffing your team’s defenses. Azelf is by far the most dangerous in this regard, but it’s no accident that most of the tanks I use above have some sort of way to deal with this, whether it’s a full-on immunity or fast self-buffs.

And related to that, Entei has no resistance to Defense debuffs, while one of Azelf’s gimmicks is how Def and Sp Def debuffs are stronger on both sides. That’s why I use quite a lot of debuffers here.

At the end of the day, this overlap only really becomes a problem if you’re gunning for a long streak. But for a 12 streak like this, the F2P pool is already enough – even if you don’t count the BP pairs, the Trainer Lodge units, and the limited-time freebies. I’m hoping this guide will help you get the major rewards for this rotation.

  1. Here's how each battle went and the sync grids used. Check out the reply for the rest of the write-ups:

    Azelf 1: Maylene / Agatha / Noland – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=006100009400&s0=5&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=18050301&t0=41111&g0=AAECAwQFBgcJERIUFhkaGx0jJCUmKSw&v1=004600012700&s1=5&l1=140&r1=4&p1=0&a1=17010201&t1=4411&g1=AAECAwQFBhEUFxocHSIkJyksLw&v2=005000030800&s2=5&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=44444&g2=AAECAwQFERMUFxgZGhsdJScqLQ

With a sleep-inducer like Agatha or Ramos, you can get away with quite a lot of clears across these three stages. I paired her up with Maylene, who appreciates the sleep a lot as she doesn't take Azelf's special hits well, and the extra turns give her time to spam Rock Smash. Noland appreciates the Defense debuffs so he can do good SE damage.

(Stalwart is a good alternative option for Maylene's lucky skill as it goes well with the Unbending in her grid. I have Flameproof on Noland as a leftover from LG8 – he should run Critical Strike 2.)

    Cobalion 1: EX Skyla / Norman / Flint – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=000900028900&s0=3&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=41114&g0=AAECAwQFBgcICQwNDx4fICUoKis&v1=000600039200&s1=3&l1=140&r1=4&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=44111&g1=AAECAwQFERQVFh0eISInKSw&v2=001600058100&s2=3&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=44411&g2=AAECAwQFERIUFRcYGiUoKQ

Even when taking SE damage from Stone Edge, Skyla is one of the best tanks against Cobalion thanks to her Defense buffs, potions, and Unbending. She helps out Flint, who does need the extra bulk and healing to see this stage through, with Norman providing reliable paralysis.

(I didn't sync with Skyla to emulate her not having her EX boost, but if you do have her EXed, syncing with her first is the better play here.)

    Entei 1: Marlon / Winona / EX Cyrus – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=004200027900&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=44441&g0=AAECAwQFBggJCg0QGhwfISIjJCY&v1=019400048400&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=4444&g1=AAECAwQFERQXGh8hIyYnKis&v2=005200056500&s2=5&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=11111&g2=AAECAwQFERMaGxweHyEkJiks

Cyrus's damage is ridiculous, and adding rain to it makes it even more ridiculous. Winona also fills in the role of flincher here, which is especially effective against Entei as it starts out with low flinch resistance. Marlon appreciates the rain for Rain Gear, and in turn he gives Cyrus an accuracy buff so he doesn't have to worry about Hydro Pump misses.

    Azelf 2: Torchic / Nanu / Bugsy – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=005600005301&s0=3&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=17010501&t0=4111&g0=AAECAwQFBggLDRUWFxweISMlJicp&v1=004500001500&s1=5&l1=140&r1=3&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFBgkRFxocHR8iIyQuLw&v2=900000025500&s2=3&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=44&g2=AAECAwQFBgcICg0TFBcaHCYpKyw

Lowkey think Nanu is one of the most valuable units for this Gauntlet – all three of these stages are vulnerable to both Defense debuffs and flinches, and he's a reliable source of both. Bugsy takes advantage of those Defense debuffs with his SE Damage, and Torchic completes his offensive buffs while also giving Nanu crit buffs for his Critical Sting passive.

(I forgot to optimize Nanu's lucky skill – he has Snow Shelter as a leftover from LG8 – but he should be fine with a defensive skill like Vigilance.)

    Cobalion 2: Hop / Molayne / Whitney – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=018300005101&s0=3&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=11111&g0=AAECAwQFERMUFRYYGxweHyEjJA&v1=002600024100&s1=5&l1=140&r1=4&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFBggKCw4QJicpLC4&v2=024400088901&s2=5&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=44444&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDRAaHB8iJCYoKw

If there's any F2P tank who could contest Skyla in terms of being the best against Cobalion, it's Hop. He has pretty much everything that Skyla does that's effective for this stage, but he trades out Speed buffs for both Attack and crit buffs, which Whitney takes full advantage of. Molayne activates the type skill for the extra HP and provides flinches.

(Hop is at Level 150 because rivals are the best – he can do just fine at lower levels.)

    Entei 2: Brawly / Lt Surge / Crasher Wake – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=003500010100&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=41111&g0=AAECAwQFBgcKDQ4RFRgdHh8jJQ&v1=001000041900&s1=5&l1=140&r1=3&p1=0&a1=18040502&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICw0bHB4fIikqLS4&v2=004300029700&s2=5&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=18040702&t2=44411&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDRETFBcdICIjJCY

Even if he isn't a support, Brawly has a pretty good defensive matchup against Entei thanks to Flameproof and Fire Guard on his grid as well as his potions. Crasher Wake also has Flameproof to take the Bar 3 Heat Wave, but he more importantly has both flinches and SE damage. Lt Surge's high speed and Charging Infliction gives helpful gauge support, and his Sp Atk debuffs also soften up Entei's damage.

(You could also give Brawly Escape Artist as a lucky skill if you don't want to gamble on flinches to skip Fire Spin, but I personally went with Defense Crush to hasten the Defense debuffs. Crasher Wake can also get Critical Strike 2 for better damage.)
