Have they choked the supply of potions? Is this another sneaky tactic? I’m getting none from gifts or pokestops anymore

This is especially disappointing considering a few years ago they actually listened to community feedback and increased the amount of potions and healing items you got.

I’m getting the feeling more and more that PoGo is starting to enter the “milk the whales” phase of MMOs…

  2. Esquiline

I’ve got a casualty list that numbers in the 100s.

  3. iSayHeyOh7

Since the Mewtwo raids (requiring to revive and heal), I haven’t gotten my supply of potions again meanwhile my friend can’t seem to get revives for weeks now.

  4. Maybe_Julia

It seems like this happens every time there is a rocket event , I can’t see it being anything other then a money grab from Niantic, jokes on them I just won’t do things that require potions/revives I am not paying real money for anything until they reverse the remote raid changes so I’m free to play for ever I suppose. I used to buy incubators but the egg pool is hot garbage now anyway.

  5. little_runner_boy

Well I’m still deleting them left and right despite still using plenty

  6. I’ve got the opposite problem as you, I get plenty of potions (that i immediately use lol) but no revives, I’ve got like 20+ dead mons atm, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll be getting revived anytime soon

  7. beatles_7

I tend to only get them from spinning gym stops now.

  8. HazardousHD

I swear items for through waves
    Sometimes I can’t get balls
Sometimes I can’t get healing items

All I can suggest is to spin gyms not stops for a higher healing item drop chance. You could also open gifts 🙂

  9. GameMasterSammy

Bruh niantic is hell bent on killing this game for sure now

  10. WorstCharizard

I throw away revives and potions by the hundreds every week. I guess it’s just differences of play styles, if you’re doing gyms, raids, and rocket stops constantly you’re bound to run out at some point but for me who mostly catches and does those other things just occasionally I would not be happy if I have to clear potions and revives out of my bag even more often.

  11. ViceLikeSeeker

I’m deathly low on potions and revives. When I do raids or leave anything in gyms, it’s 100 CP or lower now.

  12. coxxinaboxx

Fr fr after rocket events my potions are spent.

  13. RicardoMorales9301

Spin more gyms than pokestops. Gyms give more revives and potions and pokestops give more pokeballs and berries.

  14. orlouge82

Yeah, during the Rocket event, I noticed the healing items I got from stops dropped dramatically and my stock of Pokeballs (including Great and Ultra Balls) grew quite a bit. Not surprising when they start putting healing items in boxes, I guess

So just to be clear – I’ve been playing since 2016 so I know all the ways to earn potions, but thanks to everyone that wanted to let me know to spin gyms and send gifts lol

The usual methods are just giving me pokeballs, I’m literally deleting pokeballs in the hundreds

  16. Feeling-Tank1628

When this happens I try and mix things up. If I’ve relied on poke stops and gifts. I’ll try gym stops and raids. Usually gets the items that Niantic knows I need. But in answer to your question, it feels as if they’re always throttling something

  17. romdadon

    Definitely are

My stock pile has been steadily decreasing with no change to my gameplay

  18. Casmiguel

I’ve posted this recurrently, every few months. Whenever there’s an event that requires battle, potions are heavily reduced.

  19. AytumnRain

After 3 days of raiding I have about 60 or so fainted pkmn. I can’t ever get any revives. I get one revive about every 10 pokestops.

  20. 3mptylord

I’m constantly deleting them to make room to spin more PokeStops. You’re just using them faster than you earn them so you feel you never have any, whereas I don’t need them so any amount is annoying. Today I’m having the issue of where I’m constantly running out of Pokeballs – but I had accumulated 300 over the weekend so clearly there’s no conspiracy of them not giving Pokeballs. Unless– they’re just detecting what you’re low on to make us buy stuff!

  21. Dabidokun

100% is what’s happening. I was consistently getting potions from gifts and stops, and then the rocket update dropped and suddenly you’re burning through potions and revives faster than before and gettinf almost none of them back.

Niantic, you can fuck right off.

  22. Tectre_96

I’m glad I’m not the only one to notice this. I’ve had heaps of mon getting left on half health with literally no potions to do f all with. It’s driving me nuts tbh

  23. regular_gumball

I’ve realized that any event which requires healing Pokémon, when you open gifts, you only get balls. Events that requires a lot of catching, you only get potions and revives when opening gifts. I’ve tested this theory cuz I realized that they give you the opposite when you have a shortage.

  24. Here’s a tip: mega evolving/ powering up a Pokémon will revive them

  25. 1984IsBook

I have the opposite problem right now. Ton of potions, no revives.

  26. StaticRogue

    I knew I wasn’t crazy.

Glad someone spoke up about this.

  27. Doublemk

They knew that shadow Mewtwo would deplete us. They are stacking the cash grabs now.

  28. chemical-table-02

Oh so now they even doing this? Well good luck guys, i uninstalled with that remote raid choke they did and i won’t look back. It feels so good being able to walk around without being distracted by a screen with fantasy animals on it

  29. __humming_moon

I try to keep a supply of 90-100 potions each but I’m down to 65 hyper and 35 max, and zero of the other two. And I thought it was weird because i usually have to dump a bunch of each every other day.

  30. Hybrid978

My kid managed to kill half his pokemon box fighting a bugged out shadow mewtwo (had to beat it 3 times to get credit). He only had enough revives to take care of like 20% of them.

We’ve continued to do all of the same stuff since then, but I’ve been getting so many revives I’ve been throwing them out, while he has only gotten around 10 or 15 more. We’ve had the same thing happen with pokeballs. It really seems like they know what you need and purposefully don’t give it to you.
