I heard a bunch of people saying that the aiming for Super Mario Sunshine is off and I can understand why. To aim, you have to awkwardly press down on the bottom analog stick which is a button many of us don’t use. The L button was used for the tourist map for some reason. Nintendo probably should of put the Sunshine map for the analog right stick press and then put the L button as the way to aim instead. So I found a way to fix this and it’s super easy. It has made Super Mario Sunshine way easier to play and it doesn’t wear down my bottom analog stick.
Here is a step by step guide I made of how to change the button layout when you are playing with two joy con. You can also change the button layout with the pro controller in a similar fashion. I hope this helps you all like it helped me. Here is the link that walks you through each and every step.

Edit 2: I was only trying to give people a different option if they needed it. I mainly made this for people who are new to the Nintendo Switch and didn’t know how to joycon map and for kids who also didn’t know how to. I also heard a bunch of people complaining about the Super Mario Sunshine set up so I tried to help in some way. I genuinely apologize if I offended anybody here. Again I love Super Mario Sunshine. I grew up with it. But I don’t wear rose tinted glasses. If I see something that might be a problem for some players, I try to fix it. If this makes you mad, I’m sorry. I’m not going to post here again.I’ll leave this up in case anybody needs help with joy con button mapping though because apparently almost 200 people actually do with my view count on Imgur. At least it helped some people.

I’m finding using the ZL button to fix mario in place then strafing/aiming up and down is working well for me 🙂
I don’t have any issues personally.
