I don’t think theres a reason to use the masterball unless you’re desperate for one. In the base games it makes sense that there is only one Masterball (unless you get incredibly lucky) because there is only one of each legendary (for the most part). The galarian birds are rare spawns and hard to catch, but unless they take them out of the incense spawn pool they will eventually spawn again.
Golden razz has a higher catch rate than silver pinap, you got greedy

I caught one before the masterball, it sits in my roster and isn’t useful. Unless you know it’s good stats and high CP, I’d wait it out. I’m sure it’ll be in raids eventually.

Everyone talks about using a masterball on these. I usually manually catch on my account with the incense and just let the autocatcher run on my kids account in my pocket, walk and hatch eggs for him. When we were doing the Shadow Mewtwo raids he flipped out when he saw that he had a galarian bird in his bag. Apparently the autocatcher, which loses like 60% of the mons it throws a red ball at, managed to get a G bird on his account with a single red ball. I wouldn’t waste a Master ball on it. You will eventually get one.
I m saving mine for the last bird I need. Got Zap before the mball came out so gonna wait to catch one of the other two regular way. That way when I see the last bird it’s gonna be guaranteed.

I have seen and lost several of the birds. They are rally just DEX entries with little real use in PvP or PVE. I will save my master Ball for something that has a lot of potential use. So I would have ended up in the same place you are.

no these birds are trash. They look cool, but perform badly in pvp. im SURE they will have something come out down the line that provides a better use for the ball. ALso you get a chance at these spawning every day

I would consider low CP as 500 or less. Anything above 1000 for these things will run away almost everytime.
Where the Master Ball is concerned, being overly cautious is basically never a bad thing. As far as we know so far, it’s a one-of-a-kind item and you may have use for it sometime in the future and be glad you didn’t use it today.
I ran into a 3005 CP Articuno and didn’t go for it did I mess up?
Been playing for months with my wife and kid. They have seen many of the g-birds and they’ve all fled them prior to master balls. I’d never seen one through all of our incense walks. After masterballs added, I Finally saw articuno last week and i was so excited that I used my masterball right away without even looking at the cp. Turns out it was a low cp. left me feeling like I wasted my masterball. Of course the very next day I see a high cp articuno AND zapdos in the same walk and they both fled. Fml lol

I saw my first one after weeks of trying and used the Master Ball on it. It was a Zapdos with a CP over 2700 so seemed worth it. I wouldn’t have used it on anything under 2000 probably.
If it’s not worth using on a rare, high level, wild legendary then what is it good for? People will end up keeping them in their inventories for years.
