At first I thought maybe the game looked a bit too slow with that art style, but man … as it kept going I got really into it. It’s essentially Sonic’s version of “New Super Mario Bros.”
Rewatched the trailer again, and I got super hyped. Can’t wait for this!
Dang this actually looks pretty decent.
Seems ok I guess, but I’d much rather a sonic mania 2. I don’t really like this visual style.
Honestly the 90s kid in me who grew up with 2D Sonic is amped. But who is developing it? That’s what I’m going to need to know before I really board the hype train.

from what i heard there’s some potential with the game mainly only if y’all rock with the classic sonic though it’s slower pace then normal 2d games

Sonic is kind of having a little moment. The movies were pretty good and pretty successful. The new open world game was decent and sold pretty well. This game looks pretty good too. It’s like Sonic is turning into a poor man’s Mario, which is totally fine! Better then the last decade of garbage

What’s with all these comments talking about not playing a Sonic game without a chao garden? Have they been in a coma since 2001? We’ve had Sonic games without chao gardens for over 20 years.

How much though? I’m all for bringing back simple 2D games but they shouldn’t demand the same price as a big budget fully voice acted 3D game.
I’m not that interested in Sonic games, but this one has really piqued my interest! Visually reminds me of modern Kirby games which I love, and the multiplayer aspect will likely be a blast!
Hey, this actually looks really good. My only concern so far is that 3D section since I tend to not really care for 3D *Sonic*, but we’ll see.
This is another step towards my dream of there being a true classic 3d Sonic. This game is like New Super Mario Bros. for Sonic, I really hope one day there’s a Super Mario 3d World for classic Sonic. Classic Sonic was never about going blisteringly faster than comprehension, it was basically a faster Mario competitor with different routes you could take in levels for excellent replayability.
This looks sooooo good, can’t wait to play, I hope there’s at least a demo to try.
In my opinion, this was the highlight of the event.

I actually like the effort to modernise the classic artstyle. If only it’s priced much lower though.
I’m cautiously optimistic to see what Superstars has in store although as always, I’ll maintain at least a modicum of skepticism. Love the inclusion of all the different characters, love the fact that Fang’s no longer relegated to the position of being an innocuous cameo and I appreciate how SEGA has taken the initiative to bring back classic Sonic in his own outings.
Granted, something about the style throw me off. It feels a little less lively than any of Christian Whitehead’s projects. Something about it seems reminiscient of an IOS game but perhaps I’ll need to see more footage.
Cautiously optimistic.

I’m not sure if Sega realizes how chaotic a four player Sonic platformer is going to be, given the amount of times that players get in each other’s way in something that’s slower paced like New Super Mario Bros.
