Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is open great league and summer cup. Summer cup is a 1500cp league with fire, water, electric, grass, and bug typings.
With these new buffs it’s time to test them out in Great League. I finally got around to using Alolan Sandslash with new drill run and man this thing hits so hard. I use an ABB style team with Defence Deoxys lead, Alolan Sandslash and buffed Walrein in the back.

Isn't drill run a better move in neutral situations? Jonkus mentioned that probably, not sure.
you said that you used deoxys because it was a counter user that's not weak to charm, how do you think this same team with medicham would do?
Nice video, Dan. I was running G-fisk, Medicham, Araquanid with Medicham to bait out flying types, but the lag got so bad where I am that the game became unplayable. I abandoned that team and used some fun spice picks until hopefully I'm able to compete again 😢.
I see your DD is 11/10/13, I don’t have any non raid iv DD. Do you notice a difference with your DD bulk with its ivs , mine is 10/13/10 not sure if I should build it or wait for better
Having my best luck so far with whiscash, regi and medi, but the constant pauses where I do no damage are frustrating 😂
I've been running this but with dewgong safe swap instead of walrein and my aslash is shadow.. been doing well

Any reason you run rockslide over thunderbolt on DD? I figured DD would do better with TB as an anti fighter to cover your backline’s weakness
could I use scrafty or buzzwole instead of deoxys or medi?
I tried this team and racked up mostly L’s. I can’t use Deoxy’s for the life of me.
Solid team. According to Humancatcherbug, Drill Run is the better move in all neutral situations. Just a thought in case you stick with this team. Either way, great sets 🤙
Edit: I see someone beat me to this comment. My bad. On the topic of Araquanid, I think it pairs very well with a Dunsparce lead (Dunsparce is cleaning up for me since the new season started btw). Throw in a 3rd like Quag, Medicham, etc. Solid coverage.
I'm using Meganium, Lanturn and Froslass. Rates decent on PVPOKE and doing quite well with it.
I've been running d deoxys, dewgong and umbreon and got over a 60% win rate with a 26 win streak and now actually losing matches at rank 17-18ish. Probably have to swap out some of them soon. Maybe completely change it up and go with 3 new mons
What can I use if I don't have a deox…. A few suggestions?

I really believe their numbers are off cause I traded and caught from field research at a 117 which is supposed to be perfect but both were 98

Nice team! For me I’ve been running S-Dnair, medi, and swampert. I just love the oppressive dragon breaths so much so that’ it’s been my lead in the GL for 3 seasons and counting 😅
Tried this team didn’t work for me at all kept getting hard countered and lag with moves been terrible

Nice, I use dewgong as a safe swap, similar result. Not sure which one is best, kind of feels like shadow walrein would be better than both but i dont have a built one
For every Deoxys lead I face I save my medicham as last pokemon with two shields 😀

Pretty good team overall, I ran similar team but with Dewgong instead of Walrein and Deoxys defense having thunderbolt instead of rock slide. I think my team is Jonkus’s version.
Thoughts on using a 15/15/15 DD? Does it suffer a lot without pvp ivs? I got a shundo from my one and only defense deoxys raid so i kinda wanna keep it at one raid only
