Yes finally! Can’t wait for Sacred Stones too

  2. I still have my physical boxed GBA copy, one of the few GBA games I’ve bothered to hang onto all the time.

  3. Past_Trouble

Did anyone else have to go in the menu and manually download the update?

  4. IndividualLunch1598

i am CRYING. i’ll never forget how happy i felt leaving the TJMaxx with this game i found in a random bin

As a huge FE fan I still think it’s crazy that if it wasn’t for Awakening being such a banger the series would quite possibly have been shelved, and we would have had to survive off GBA romhacks.

There’s an alternate universe somewhere where Fire Emblem is a dead franchise while F-Zero-NX sells 8 million copies and Star Fox is a successful online multiplayer team shooter.

Is the multiplayer mode good in this game?

  7. O-nigiri

Ok, this might be what finally gets me to spring for the pricy Expansion Pack… I haven’t been too tempted up to now but being able to play more Fire Emblem is pretty big.

Wonder if they fixed the script to correct some of the egregious translation errors, especially in the game’s ending texts.

  9. Dr-Dingus117

I wonder when kirby and the amazing mirror will be available

Good ass game. Fuckin Eliwood and Lynn

  11. Dukemon102

For anyone who hasn’t played FE before. The beginning with Lyn has a extensive tutorial to teach you the basics. This entry was the first one to release in the west so they made sure players weren’t going to get lost.

  12. Maintenance-Chemical

    I just bought a physical copy 😂

Time to play my first fire emblem game I suppose

Does NSO have a save state function? I’d hate to die during arena grinds…

  15. Loved three houses and just hopped into this one. Had me hooked within 5 mins

  16. aarovski

For those of you that play it: Erk is a gangsta.

  17. ThePrinceofBirds

This was my first fire emblem game. I treated the three protagonists as royalty. They fought basically nothing the whole game and were protected by everyone else.

I got all the way to the final stage and then
…yep. Had to restart from the beginning.

This was my first FE game, and to this day, it’s the standard. The story is very grounded with no sudden jumps or crazy confusing plot points. I really appreciated the natural progression. And this is probably the only FE game I’ve ever played that doesn’t have a single character I don’t like.

  19. If you don’t follow Fire Emblem closely, this game (GBA FE in general) has the best fighting animation of all Fire Emblem, the peak of 2D pixel really. I’m sure every fan of this game remembers every single crit animation of all characters, it’s just satisfying.

This game is simple enough, hard enough and long enough with very memorable characters. Interesting how most GBA games are that way.

  20. TheManicNorm

This game was so incredibly formative for me. I was engrossed in video game stories and characters before, but nothing before this felt so epic or driven by such compelling characters. I don’t think I could count how many times I’ve played through it.

  21. SquarebobSpongepants

This is great and all, but I really want PoR and RD 🙁

  22. BlueThunderBomb

No other game company could drip feed literally nothing this much as much as Nintendo has been doing.

A single gameboy game a month? Wheres the n64 game? Wheres the snes games? Wheres anything? Come on.

  23. akirivan

If we ever get Binding Blade in English on NSO, I’ll just straight up die

  24. begselwalch

Started playing about an hour ago and happy to confirm that it’s not just my rose-tinted glasses talking when I constantly praise the GBA-era of Fire Emblem. The game still holds up very well.

  25. SplashFree

Might be crying a lil at the opening theme song, ngl. I can’t stop smiling. I feel like I’m 9 again.

  26. gryphonbones

Best FE game ever. No grinding for exp, every move matters. No over complicated support and feature creep systems. Pixel art is better than 3D. I’ve enjoyed fire emblems since, but never as much as this one. Love playing it through again on my Switch.

Here’s a fun meme thing to do in this game: Play Lyn hard mode where the promotion of Wallace is not forced. Give Wallace’s knights crest to either Kent or Sain instead. If neither of them are lvl 10+, another thing I used to do as a kid in these games is “boss abuse”. You can only do this on a boss which is on a tile which heals them, like a throne or castle gate. You attack the boss and let it heal up, basically infinite (but slow) experience. I once grinded Sain up to level 20 and promoted him with Wallace’s knights crest in Lyn mode. Then when he comes back around in chapter 16 or whatever in Eliwood / Hector mode, you basically have 2 Marcuses lol.

  28. MonkeyManDan

Between this, totk, and just getting pikmin 1 + 2 I will be locked away for some time.

  29. Over_Satisfaction648

Great game. Great characters. Great story.

  30. AcousticAtlas

Haven’t been vibing with the new more visual novel style of FE so I’m pretty hyped.

  31. AleroRatking

Maybe my second favorite fire emblem only behind fevi, it’s predecessor
