    You need to feed your buddy so it appears on the map for walking to register.

    For the hearts, you must feed it and it must appear on the map
    For just candy you can walk w it normally assume it’s tracking it (at the bottom of the page you screen shotted)

    Make sure adventure sync is on. Also, walking around in a relative straight line helps. Walking on a treadmill only works with adventure sync on, IIRC.

    This happened to me so I deleted the app and downloaded again. Turned the adventure sync off and then back on, and haven’t had the issue since. As long as adventure sync is on, and the app is working correctly, it will register steps regardless of if you’re waking in circles or straight lines.

    If I don’t have adventure sync on, my buddy has to be on the map for walking to register and to find candy.

    If sync IS on then walking registers and they find candy either way.

    Being on airplane mode connected to wifi will interfere with it too, as wifi gives a very general location to gps so it won’t register as much distance as if you had regular cell service on.

    You need to feed it so it starts running around with you.
