I knew Ghouls n ghosts was going to be out there – now we have the console trilogy.
I don’t know how the controls will map to the Switch controller but there is a god mode and a few codes for this.

It surprises me how the Sega Genesis game catalog is incredible, it has been getting updates every month and even has big games from third-party companies like MegaMan, Street Fighter and Castlevania, I think that because of it being part of the Expansion Pak instead of the subscription like the NES and SNES the budget ends up being bigger for that kind of thing.
At this point it honestly only lacks Sonic 3, Mega BomberMan and Michael Jackson: Moonwalker to be a perfect collection of Sega Genesis games, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
PS: I recommend you play Crusader of Centy, it’s a perfect game for anyone who enjoys Zelda: A Link To The Past.

I’m excited for Crusader of Centy, that’s a game I’ve been hoping for since they announced Genesis on NSO, the rest of the games are solid titles but Landstalker and Revenge of Shinobi are already on the Sega Genesis Classics collection and the arcade and SNES versions of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts are already available on the Capcom Arcade Stadium and the SNES NSO app respectively. It’s still nice to have them here, but it’s really only Crusader of Centy that makes this drop special.

As someone who grew up on N64, I’m incredibly jealous of Genesis fans. So many genuinely interesting or undeniably classic games beyond just Sega’s output, while the amount of 3rd party N64 releases across NSO and Virtual Console combined is like…7?
It’s maybe 12 if you include Switch releases of N64 games not on NSO.

I believe Centy is completely new to the switch.
The arcade version of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts is available as Capcon Arcade Stadium DLC. There’s also Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection — a modern remake of an earlier game in the series.
^(Fun Sega facts: there are still more Genesis games through Sega Genesis Classics than there are through NSO. 51 versus 44 including these four additions. There are also 20 — mostly arcade — Sega games available through Sega Ages, and a hard to count number of Sega-hardware / sega titles available through individual collections — I count around 30, but my spreadsheet is incomplete and subjective and 12 of those are gamegear games through Sonic Origins Plus)

If you only play one of these, play Crusader of Centy. Best Zelda-like on the Genesis, excellent soundtrack, and its plot was way ahead of its time. I can’t say enough good things about it.

Lots of updates which is nice. But where’s the 64 game?
Nintendo is dangling some of my favorite childhood games over my face and not releasing them. I just want mp 3 and stadium 2.
