I’ve been trying to find a grunt with fire types for so long now, ugh!

    Same; I’ve fought endless grunts and even tried the leaders and can’t get anything. I basically gave up.

    I just searched fire&shadow and I had quite a few to choose from. I hate purifying because of the Stardust cost, and shadows are useful.

    This is why I have tagged shadow, mostly 1k, to purify Pokémon saved. I always keep about 20 ready to go. So during events or special research I have them at the ready.

    This doesn’t help you NOW unfortunately but hopefully something you can do going forward to help you in the future.

    Luckily for me i had a shadow ALOLAN rattata laying around for my dark type run lol

    still wont be the 4/4 before it ends though because i got back into the game like 3 days ago :/

    I got lucky and managed to catch and purify one last night. The rewards in step 4 are… underwhelming. Definitely not worth stressing about. And it doesn’t count for a medal or anything.

    The trick is to always have bunch of shadow pokemons to purify when needed.

    This task almost did me in (except I had to find a Dark type). I got lucky finding a Grunt at a random PokeStop right as I drove by it and was able to find parking super fast.

    The thing I needed was to evolve 2 more fire types

    I had one but I didn’t do it unless I had the other too, I didn’t get the other 😔

    Basically informed me that I need to save 1 shadow mon of every type for the rest of my life

    I started saving shadow mons a while ago for the level 45 challenge (purify 100(?)). So I easily was able to purify a fire type.
    I recommend this method to anyone under level 45. 🤙🏼

    i picked the dark part on that quest, the only friggn mon i have is a shadow shiny sableye and i absolutely refuse to purify it lol

    Yea I never finished this. For some reason no balloons would appear for me on the final day

    I got lucky and a balloon grunt had a vulpix for me, I’ll now be saving a wide variety of types to avoid this in future, luckily you didn’t really miss out on much in terms of rewards. Mega Houndoom energy was all

    … you guys know there’s shadow raids with Growlithe right. Faster to search on campfire for 1 than to search for a fire rocket grunt.

    Did the dark one. Caught 8 shadow volpics. Not a single dark pokemon. This one was a bad quest.

    I was lucky enough to get a grass one with Cacnea, just had to evolve it before purifying

    A fire type grunt legit showed up for me after I finished the previous part of that research, thought it was programmed like that, but guess I was just really lucky lol
