Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is master league premier and single-type cup – great league. This is a 1500CP league where you can only use pokemon that have one typing. Lots of pokemon not allowed in this meta like medicham, sableye, altaria, bastiodon, etc. Master League Premier is level 50 (XL Pokemon) but no legendary.
Dragonite, a steel (either metagross or excadrill) and mamoswine that can act as a safe swap but also a hard answer to some of the fairies/dragons you will see in Master League Premier.

I used gyarados metagross and mamo like u basicly (same same), but suddenly everyone has primarina in lead and excadrill in back 😂
Handy video to review, I've been using gyarados/excadrill/mamoswine. Could use dragonite lead but I like having crunch as an option for the chance of lowering def.

The thing i really kike anout mamow is unless you run into a golisipod it can hit everything for at least neutral damage. With its very hard hitting and efficient charge moves, it could have a case to be top 3 Pokémon in this league.
I ran Mamo-DB Gyarados- Dragonite and is pretty solid. Straight As on PVPoke. You should try it

I’ve been running it as a closer with gyarados lead and Excadrill switch. Mamo has been working wonders

I'm currently running Gyarados lead, with the metagross mamoswine backline purely because gyarados and mamo were the only pokemon I had either a hundo or 98 along with the XLs to power them up, then running a hundo metagross at Lv48 (47 + best buddy). Seems to be roughly 50/50 in terms of success but the fact I'm able to compete and at least get the 3x stardust this week rather than sitting the week out like the past 2 seasons has been a huge plus.

Just curious here but is it worth running a Primarina right now for ML Premier or should I wait for Popplio Community Day?
Also I was extremely lucky to get a 98% Shadow Snorlax (it has 14 attack however) & was contemplating running that or just invest into a hundo.
So what's his elo 2200? This season is gonna be tough. Next cups are gonna suck

As always it comes down to what one as a player sees at their own Elo! HSH used a Magnaton to climb to legend this season.. other YouTubers had Snorkax as the best safe switch in the meta ( not true) but in the end after seeing Showcases of different teams it is good to know that they are choices! Just check your meta at your Elo rank before you power a Mon that it is not going to work!
