Interested on the balance changes. Hoping it expands the “meta” for more combinations. But I highly doubt it.

Not gonna lie. This is a little disappointing.
They did it again. These courses are great!
Check your combination in the stats screen when you choose a character as one of my favorite combos with Metal Mario selected used to have the exactly equal stats between acceleration and top speed, but now they added one more notch towards top speed. Because this happened to me after MK8D update to the latest version.
Why are the graphics in these booster course passes so much worse than the OG tracks that were made 9 years ago ???

The music is FANTASTIC. Vancouver might be my fav track now holy crap
I’m fine with less Mirror, but I’m disapointed for 200cc. At about 6000 and more, it helps reduce the pack racing that the game isn’t well balanced for. Like I can’t counted how many time I was P2 or P3 and got hit by the P10 star or bullet because the entire field was within 2 seconds
It’s wild to think about a 2014 Wii U game still getting new content and balance changes from Nintendo in 2023.
If anyone’s interested in the stats of the new characters:
* Petey Piranha is a heavyweight, with the same stats as Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach.
* Wiggler is also a heavyweight, having the same stats as Donkey Kong, Waluigi, and Roy.
* Kamek is a middleweight, with the same stats as Luigi and Iggy.

I have been waiting for the DLC to go on sale, do you think it will ever? Aside from the tracks, any other significant changes?
Really not liking all half pipe mechanics that throw you into a railing If you use them. That and all the maps that seem to alternate routes each lap.
I miss what Mario Kart used to be. All these extra unnecessary mechanics…? I give these new courses about a 5/10.
It’s great that 8 is getting maps & all but how about some Mario Party love Nintendo.

What? Those existed? I’ve literally NEVER seen them.
Juts wondering, are the courses that are from other consoles updated visually for switch hardware?
Do I have to buy a pass for each of the wave? And is it permanent or does the courses only unlock for a period of time?
I want to play this desperately but I don’t know how to update the game without simultaneously updating Tears of The Kingdom..
Would it be too much to ask for a random button when choosing a track/tournament?
Mario kart still pretty high priced….is it still worth buying now?

The animation on the new characters is great. Wiggler turning red and angry when he gets hit is perfect.
So far liking these new courses, though I was kinda wishing in the bathroom course there would be a part where we race down the toilet.
Invent new games, stop always releasing the same game with different names.
Wow… I just realized I haven’t stopped playing Tears of the Kingdom for 2 months because I haven’t even touched Mario Kart 8 since then, so I barely enjoyed Wave 4.
I’m still REALLY thrilled about Wave 5, so I’ll join you after… I don’t know, I’m not trying to Tears of the Kingdom at this point…

ordered the game for $30 yesterday, I guess I’ll finally see if it’s better than regular ocho
